## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEC EDGAR Company Lookup & Financials Enricher

Bulk **SEC EDGAR company lookup**: turn a list of tickers, CIK numbers or company names into a clean company profile with **recent filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1...)** and **latest annual financials** (revenue, net income, total assets, liabilities, equity, operating cash flow, diluted EPS). Data comes straight from the SEC's free official `data.sec.gov` APIs, so there's no scraping, login or proxy.

### Use cases

- **CRM / lead enrichment**: add CIK, SIC industry, EIN, HQ address and website to account lists.
- **Investment research & screening**: pull filing history and headline financials for a watchlist in one run.
- **Filing monitoring**: schedule daily with `formTypes: ["8-K"]` to see new material events.
- **KYB / due diligence**: confirm legal name, former names, state of incorporation and LEI.

### Input

```json
{ "companies": ["AAPL", "320193", "Microsoft Corp"], "recentFilings": 5, "formTypes": ["10-K", "8-K"], "includeFinancials": true }
```

### Output (one row per company)

```json
{ "query": "AAPL", "found": true, "cik": "0000320193", "name": "Apple Inc.", "tickers": ["AAPL"], "industry": "Electronic Computers",
  "stateOfIncorporation": "CA", "businessAddress": "One Apple Park Way, Cupertino, CA, 95014",
  "recentFilings": [{ "form": "10-K", "filingDate": "...", "url": "https://www.sec.gov/Archives/..." }],
  "financials": { "revenue": { "value": 391035000000, "periodEnd": "2024-09-28", "fiscalYear": 2024 }, "netIncome": { ... } } }
```

Companies that can't be matched return `found: false` and are not charged.

### Pricing

Pay per result: you pay only for companies found.

### Notes

Uses public SEC data and respects SEC fair-access limits (well under 10 requests/second, with a declared User-Agent). Not affiliated with the SEC. Not investment advice.
