## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Yep Images Scraper

Scrapes Yep image search results and returns image URLs, thumbnails, dimensions, source pages, formats, and search metadata when available.

### What this Actor collects

The Actor creates one dataset item per image result, with explicit aliases for image, thumbnail, and source-page URLs.

- Uses the input limits and filters below to control the crawl.
- Stores source-backed fields defined by the 27-field dataset schema.
- Optional media and source fields are populated only when Yep exposes them for the result.

### Use cases

- Visual research
- Image-source discovery
- Media and asset enrichment

### Input

Provide input in JSON. Fields marked required must be supplied; source-specific alternatives and constraints are described in the field text.

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | :---: | --- | --- |
| `query` | string | Yes | — | The image search query to look up on Yep. |
| `maxItems` | integer | No | `100` | Maximum number of image results to scrape (1–500). |
| `safeSearch` | string | No | `"off"` | Safety filter: `off`, `moderate`, or `strict`. |
| `size` | string | No | `"any"` | Size filter: `any`, `small`, `medium`, `large`, or `xlarge`. |
| `color` | string | No | `"any"` | Color filter: `any`, `color`, `blackAndWhite`, or `transparent`. |
| `type` | string | No | `"any"` | Image-type filter: `any`, `photo`, `clipart`, `gif`, or `line`. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | No | — | Proxy settings for the scraper. |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "query": "golden gate bridge",
  "maxItems": 50,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  },
  "safeSearch": "off",
  "size": "any",
  "color": "any",
  "type": "any"
}
```

### Output

The default dataset contains one item per image result. Source-page, dimension, format, and animation fields are optional because they depend on Yep's response.

| Field | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `position` | integer | Position |
| `title` | string | Title / Alt Text |
| `imageUrl` | string | Full Image URL |
| `thumbnailUrl` | string | Thumbnail URL |
| `hostPageUrl` | string | Source Page URL |
| `sourceName` | string | Source Name |
| `width` | integer | Width (px) |
| `height` | integer | Height (px) |
| `fileFormat` | string | File Format |
| `searchQuery` | string | Search Query |
| `scrapedAt` | string | Scraped At |
| `type` | string | Result Type |
| `url` | string | Image URL (alias) |
| `resultType` | string | Vertical |
| `altText` | string | Alt Text |
| `thumbnail` | string | Thumbnail (alias) |

<details>
<summary>All 27 declared dataset fields</summary>

`position`, `type`, `resultType`, `title`, `altText`, `imageUrl`, `url`, `thumbnailUrl`, `thumbnail`, `hostPageUrl`
`sourceUrl`, `hostPageDomain`, `sourceName`, `sourceDomain`, `domain`, `width`, `height`, `aspectRatio`, `sizePixels`, `fileFormat`
`isAnimated`, `page`, `searchQuery`, `searchUrl`, `engineId`, `searchMetadata`, `scrapedAt`

</details>

#### Example dataset item

No static output record is embedded because the current local storage has no trustworthy item. Run the Actor with the example input to create source-backed output; the Actor does not fabricate a sample record.
