## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Veo 3.1 Lite AI Video Generator — Text & Image to Video

Turn a text prompt (or a first-frame image) into a short video with **Google Veo 3.1 Lite** — with or without generated sound. No API keys, no setup, pay only for the seconds you get.

### What you can do

- **Text → video:** describe a scene, get a 4, 6 or 8 second clip.
- **Image → video:** give a first frame (and optionally a last frame) and animate it.
- **Sound on or off:** Veo can generate matching audio — ambience, effects, speech.
- **16:9 or 9:16**, **720p or 1080p**.
- **Batch-friendly:** call it from the API, schedules, n8n, Make or an AI agent via Apify MCP.

### How to use

1. Write a prompt. Optionally add a first-frame image URL (720p or larger).
2. Pick duration, resolution, aspect ratio and whether to generate audio.
3. Start the run. When it finishes, the MP4 link is in the **Output** tab (`videoUrl`).

A typical video is ready in about a minute.

### Pricing

You pay per generated second. **Failed generations are free.**

| Resolution | Audio | Price per second | 4 s video | 8 s video |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 720p | off | $0.06 | $0.24 | $0.48 |
| 720p | on | $0.10 | $0.40 | $0.80 |
| 1080p | off | $0.10 | $0.40 | $0.80 |
| 1080p | on | $0.168 | $0.67 | $1.34 |

Before generating, the Actor checks that your run's maximum cost covers the video. If it doesn't, the run stops without spending anything and tells you the amount to set.

Available on paid Apify plans.

### Input example

```json
{
  "prompt": "A red fox trotting through fresh snow in a pine forest, soft morning light",
  "duration": "4",
  "resolution": "720P",
  "aspect_ratio": "16:9",
  "generate_audio": false
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "model": "google/veo-3.1-lite-generate-001",
  "prompt": "A red fox trotting through fresh snow in a pine forest, soft morning light",
  "videoUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/<storeId>/records/video.mp4?signature=...",
  "seconds": 4,
  "options": { "resolution": "720P", "generate_audio": false },
  "priceUsd": 0.24,
  "generationId": "..."
}
```

The video is stored in the run's key-value store. Download it if you need to keep it — run storage is removed after your plan's retention period.

### Good to know

- Content rules of the model apply: some prompts (for example real public figures or unsafe content) can be refused. Refused generations are not charged.
- `person_generation` controls whether people may appear.
- Questions or a missing option? Open an issue on the Actor page.
