## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Amazon Price Tracker - Price History & Drop Alerts

Track Amazon prices on a schedule and build your own price history. Every run records the current price of each product and reports the lowest, highest and average price seen so far, the change since the last check, and alerts for price drops, target prices and restocks. Works on 17 Amazon marketplaces.

### What you get

For every product on every run:

- **price, currency, listPrice, savingsPercent** - current buy-box price plus the struck-through list price and discount
- **previousPrice, priceChange, priceChangePercent** - movement since the last check
- **lowestPrice / lowestPriceAt, highestPrice / highestPriceAt, averagePrice** - stats across every check since you started tracking
- **isLowestPrice** - the product is at its lowest tracked price
- **alert + alertReasons** - price dropped by your threshold, lowest price since tracking started, at or below your target price, back in stock
- **inStock, availability, condition** - stock status and whether the buy box is a new or used offer
- **sellerName, sellerId, soldByAmazon** - who currently holds the buy box
- **couponText, dealBadge** - active coupons and limited-time deals
- **title, brand, imageUrl, rating, reviewCount**
- **priceHistory** - the last 60 price points (date, price, list price, stock, seller), ready to chart
- **dataPoints, firstTrackedAt** - how long the product has been tracked

### Use cases

- **Price-drop alerts** - get notified when a product you want gets cheaper or hits your target price
- **Competitor price monitoring** - follow rival sellers' prices and buy-box changes daily
- **Amazon sellers and arbitrage** - spot price lows, coupons and stock-outs on products you resell
- **Deal hunting** - build a watchlist and only act when the price really is low
- **Market research** - collect long-term pricing data without a Keepa or camelcamelcamel subscription

### How to use

1. Add **Products**: Amazon product URLs or ASINs, one per line. URLs from amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.ca, amazon.com.au, amazon.co.jp and other marketplaces are detected automatically.
2. Optionally set **Target prices**, e.g. `{"B09B8V1LZ3": 49.99}`, and a **Price drop alert (%)**.
3. Run the actor once to record the starting prices.
4. **Schedule it** (Actor → Schedules, e.g. daily or every 6 hours) with the same input. Each run adds a new point to every product's history and recalculates the stats.
5. Filter the **Dataset** for `alert = true`, or connect an integration (email, Slack, Zapier, webhooks) to get notified when alerts appear.

Price history is stored in a named key-value store in your own Apify account (`amazon-price-history` by default). It persists between runs and is never shared. Use a different **History store name** to keep separate watchlists.

### Supported marketplaces

amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.fr, amazon.it, amazon.es, amazon.nl, amazon.ca, amazon.com.au, amazon.co.jp, amazon.in, amazon.com.mx, amazon.com.br, amazon.se, amazon.pl, amazon.sg, amazon.ae

### Good to know

- History starts with your first run. The longer the schedule runs, the more useful the lowest, highest and average figures become.
- Prices are the ones a shopper in that marketplace's country sees in the buy box. If no new offer exists, the buy box may be a used offer, and `condition` tells you which.
- A check that fails (for example, the product page is temporarily unavailable) is still reported with an `error` so you can see it in your schedule, but it is not charged and is not added to the history.
- Products that no longer exist on a marketplace return `Product not found on this marketplace.`

# Actor input Schema

## `products` (type: `array`):

Amazon product URLs or ASINs to track, one per line. URLs from any supported Amazon marketplace work (amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de…); bare ASINs use the Marketplace below.

## `marketplace` (type: `string`):

Amazon store used for ASINs entered without a URL.

## `targetPrices` (type: `object`):

Optional. Map of ASIN to the price you want to buy at, e.g. {"B09B8V1LZ3": 49.99}. Products at or below their target are flagged with an alert.

## `dropAlertPercent` (type: `integer`):

Flag an alert when the price falls by at least this percentage since the previous check.

## `historyStoreName` (type: `string`):

Named key-value store in your account that keeps each product's price history between runs. Use the same name on every scheduled run; use a different name to keep separate watchlists.

## `maxHistoryPoints` (type: `integer`):

How many past price checks to keep per product. Older points are dropped first.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "products": [
    "B09B8V1LZ3",
    "https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DT48V16"
  ],
  "marketplace": "com",
  "targetPrices": {
    "B09B8V1LZ3": 49.99
  },
  "dropAlertPercent": 5,
  "historyStoreName": "amazon-price-history",
  "maxHistoryPoints": 1000
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One record per product: price, previousPrice, priceChange, lowest/highest/average price, alert + alertReasons, stock, seller, and the recent priceHistory.

## `summary` (type: `string`):

Products checked, alerts raised, failures.
