## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bluesky Starter Pack & Search Scraper - Users, Likers, Feeds

Export the members of any Bluesky starter pack or list, search Bluesky people and starter packs by keyword, pull posts from any custom feed, and get the full list of people who liked, reposted, quoted or replied to a post. No login, no Bluesky account, no setup.

### What you get

Every row has a `type` field so the output stays clean in CSV, Excel or Google Sheets.

**People rows** (`type: "profile"`) — starter pack members, list members, people search, post likers and reposters:

- Handle, display name, bio, DID, profile URL, avatar and banner
- Follower count, following count and post count
- Bluesky verification status, moderation labels, account creation date
- `interactedAt` — when the person liked the post (likers mode)

**Post rows** (`type: "post"`) — custom feeds, list feeds, quote posts and replies:

- Post text, URL, creation time and language
- Hashtags, mentioned accounts and links pulled out of the text
- Image URLs, video playlist URL, link card URL and quoted post
- Like, repost, reply and quote counts
- Author handle, name, avatar and profile URL
- Reply depth and parent/root post for threaded replies

**Starter pack rows** (`type: "starterPack"`) — starter pack search and a user's starter packs:

- Name, description, starter pack URL and member count
- Number of people who joined through the pack this week and all time
- Creator handle, name and profile URL, number of bundled feeds, created/updated dates

### Use cases

- **Audience building** — export every member of a niche starter pack and follow, research or reach out to them
- **Lead generation** — find journalists, researchers, founders or creators through people search and starter pack search
- **Influencer and community research** — map who is in which starter packs and lists, with follower counts
- **Engagement analysis** — see exactly who liked, reposted or quoted a post, and read every reply
- **Feed and topic monitoring** — collect posts from any custom feed or curated list for trend and sentiment analysis

### Modes

| Mode | Input | Returns |
|------|-------|---------|
| Starter pack members | Starter pack URL | People |
| People search | Search query | People |
| Starter pack search | Search query | Starter packs |
| Starter packs created by a user | Handle or profile URL | Starter packs |
| List members | List URL | People |
| Custom feed posts | Feed URL | Posts |
| List feed posts | List URL | Posts from the list's members |
| Post likers | Post URL | People |
| Post reposters | Post URL | People |
| Quote posts | Post URL | Posts |
| Post replies | Post URL | Posts (whole reply tree) |

Accepted URLs look like:

- `https://bsky.app/starter-pack/emilyliu.me/3kvq2t2ctis2z` (or a `go.bsky.app` short link)
- `https://bsky.app/profile/emilyliu.me/lists/3kvq2sytpos2i`
- `https://bsky.app/profile/bsky.app/feed/whats-hot`
- `https://bsky.app/profile/kenjennings.bsky.social/post/3mvta262ufs27`

### How to use

1. Choose **What to scrape**.
2. Paste a **Bluesky URL** (starter pack, list, feed, post or profile), or type a **Search query** for the search modes.
3. Set **Max results** (default 100; 0 means no limit).
4. Run the Actor. Results appear in the **Output / Dataset** tab, ready to download as JSON, CSV, Excel or to send to Google Sheets.

### Getting the next page

Big starter packs, lists, feeds and like lists are fetched page by page until **Max results** is reached. To continue where a run stopped:

After the run finishes, open the **Key-value store** tab → copy the `NEXT_PAGE_ID` value → paste it into **Page ID** on your next run, keeping the same mode and URL or query. If `NEXT_PAGE_ID` is missing or `null`, you've fetched everything.

Post replies are returned as one complete reply tree, so that mode does not use Page ID.

### Good to know

- Only public data is returned — the same data anyone can see on bsky.app without logging in.
- Bluesky keyword **post** search requires a logged-in account, so this Actor does not offer it. Use custom feeds or list feeds to follow a topic instead.
- Deleted or deactivated accounts are skipped, so a starter pack showing 52 members may return 51 rows.
- Looking for a single profile's followers, following or posts? Use our **Bluesky Scraper** for those.

### Pricing

You pay per result: one event per person, post or starter pack row saved to the dataset.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

Pick the data you want. Search modes use 'Search query'; every other mode uses 'Bluesky URL'.

## `url` (type: `string`):

The starter pack, list, custom feed, post or profile to scrape, depending on the mode. Examples: https://bsky.app/starter-pack/emilyliu.me/3kvq2t2ctis2z, https://bsky.app/profile/emilyliu.me/lists/3kvq2sytpos2i, https://bsky.app/profile/bsky.app/feed/whats-hot, https://bsky.app/profile/kenjennings.bsky.social/post/3mvta262ufs27. at:// URIs and go.bsky.app starter pack short links also work. For 'Starter packs created by a user' enter a handle (bsky.app), @handle, profile URL or DID.

## `query` (type: `string`):

Keywords for 'People search' (matches names, handles and bios) and 'Starter pack search' (matches pack names and descriptions). Ignored by the other modes.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum rows to return in this run. Set 0 for no limit (the run stops about 60 seconds before its timeout and saves NEXT\_PAGE\_ID so you can continue).

## `includeProfileStats` (type: `boolean`):

For people rows (starter pack members, list members, search, likers, reposters), look up follower count, following count, post count and banner. Turn off for slightly faster runs.

## `pageId` (type: `string`):

Paste NEXT\_PAGE\_ID from the previous run's Key-value store to fetch the next page. Use the same mode and URL/query as that run. Not used by 'Post replies', which fetches the whole reply tree at once.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "mode": "starterPackMembers",
  "url": "https://bsky.app/starter-pack/emilyliu.me/3kvq2t2ctis2z",
  "query": "journalist",
  "maxItems": 100,
  "includeProfileStats": true
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Rows with type 'profile' (did, handle, displayName, description, profileUrl, followersCount, followsCount, postsCount, isVerified, createdAt, interactedAt), type 'post' (postUri, postUrl, text, createdAt, langs, hashtags, links, imageUrls, videoUrl, like/repost/reply/quote counts, author fields, replyDepth) or type 'starterPack' (name, description, starterPackUrl, memberCount, joinedWeekCount, joinedAllTimeCount, creator fields).

## `nextPageId` (type: `string`):

NEXT\_PAGE\_ID record in the default key-value store. Paste into Page ID on the next run to resume; missing or null when everything has been fetched.
