## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Local Business Leads Finder - Emails, Phones & Websites

Build lists of local businesses by category and location: plumbers in Austin, dentists within 5 km of a point, roofers in San Diego rated 4.5+. Each lead comes with its phone number, email address (where one is known), website, full address, rating, review count, opening hours and Google Maps link. Filter for businesses **without a website**, unclaimed profiles or a minimum number of reviews to find the leads that need your service.

### What you get

One row per business:

- **name**, **category** and **categories**
- **phone**, **email** and **emails**: emails are kept only when they're on the business's own domain or clearly belong to it
- **website** and **domain**
- **address**, **street**, **city**, **postalCode**, **region**, **countryCode**, **latitude** and **longitude**
- **rating**, **reviewCount** and **ratingDistribution** (count of 1-5 star reviews)
- **isClaimed**: whether the owner has claimed the business profile
- **openingHours** per day, **priceLevel**, **description**, **totalPhotos**, **logo** and **mainImage**
- **googleMapsUrl**, **placeId**, **cid** and **lastUpdated**

Export to CSV, Excel, JSON or Google Sheets from the **Dataset** tab, or send leads straight to your CRM with an integration.

### Use cases

- **Web design and SEO agencies**: find businesses with no website, or with few reviews, and pitch them
- **Local lead generation**: build call and email lists for any trade in any city
- **Sales prospecting**: target well-reviewed, established businesses (100+ reviews) in your niche
- **Reputation management**: find businesses with low ratings or unclaimed profiles
- **Market research**: count competitors by category and area, and compare ratings

### How to use

1. Enter one or more **Business categories**, such as `plumber`, `dentist`, `pizza restaurant` or `real estate agency`. Plurals and capitals are fine. The run log shows which category each term was matched to.
2. Set the location: a **City** (spelled in full), optionally a **State / region** (full name, e.g. `Texas`), a **ZIP / postal code** and a **Country code**. To search in a radius instead, enter **Search around coordinates** (`latitude,longitude`) and a **Radius (km)**.
3. Add filters: **Website** (has one / has none), **Phone number**, **Email address**, **Claimed profile**, **Minimum rating** and **Minimum reviews**.
4. Choose **Sort by** (most reviews, highest rating or newest listings) and set **Max leads**.
5. Run the actor. Results appear in the **Dataset** tab.

### Output example

```json
{
  "name": "SALT Plumbing Air & Electric",
  "category": "Air conditioning repair service",
  "phone": "+1737-355-5063",
  "email": "service@callsalt.com",
  "emails": ["service@callsalt.com"],
  "website": "https://callsalt.com/?utm_source=GBP&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=austin",
  "domain": "callsalt.com",
  "address": "901 S MoPac Expy, Austin, TX 78746",
  "city": "Austin",
  "postalCode": "78746",
  "region": "Texas",
  "countryCode": "US",
  "rating": 4.9,
  "reviewCount": 1644,
  "isClaimed": true,
  "openingHours": { "monday": "08:00-20:00", "sunday": "08:00-20:00" },
  "googleMapsUrl": "https://www.google.com/maps?cid=13621142114814460630&hl=en&gl=US"
}
```

### Tips

- City names must match exactly (`New York`, not `NYC`). If you get no results, check the spelling or use coordinates instead.
- **Website: No website** combined with **Minimum reviews: 20** finds established businesses that still have no site, a classic web design lead list.
- Not every business has a known email. Set **Email address** to *Has an email* to return only those that do.
- For every business on Google Maps, including reviews and photos, use the **Google Maps** actors.

### Pricing

You pay per search request and per lead returned. There's no subscription, and you can cap your spend with the run's maximum charge setting.
