## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Google Maps No-Website Leads - Businesses Without a Website

Find local businesses on Google Maps that don't have a website. Get their name, phone number, address, category, rating, review count, whether the Google listing is claimed, and a 0–100 lead score. You get a ready-to-call prospect list for web design, SEO and local marketing outreach.

### What you get

For every business without a website:

- **Business name, category and all categories**
- **Phone number**, formatted and in international (E.164) format
- **Website status**: `none` (no link at all) or `social-only` (only a Facebook, Instagram, Yelp, Linktree or similar profile), plus that profile URL
- **Claimed status**: whether the owner has claimed the Google Maps listing. Unclaimed listings are the warmest leads.
- **Rating and number of Google reviews**
- **Lead score (0–100)** that ranks who to call first
- **Address**, street, city, state, postal code, country and coordinates
- **Google Maps link** and place IDs
- The search that found the business

Export to CSV, Excel, JSON or Google Sheets straight from the Dataset tab.

### Use cases

- **Web design agencies and freelancers**: find businesses that need a website and pitch them directly
- **SEO and local marketing agencies**: prospect businesses with a weak online presence
- **Google Business Profile services**: target unclaimed listings
- **Cold calling and SDR teams**: build phone lead lists by niche and city
- **Market research**: measure how many businesses in a niche or area still have no website

### How to use

1. Enter one or more **business categories**, e.g. `plumber`, `nail salon`, `food truck`, `roofing contractor`.
2. Enter one or more **locations**, e.g. `Denver, CO`, `Brooklyn, NY` or a ZIP code. Every category is searched in every location.
3. Optionally add free-form **search queries** such as `food trucks in Austin`.
4. Choose your filters: phone required, unclaimed only, minimum rating or minimum reviews.
5. Set **Max leads** (default 100, 0 for no limit) and run the actor.

**Tip:** Google Maps returns a limited number of places per search, roughly 120–200. To cover a big city, list its neighborhoods or ZIP codes as separate locations.

### Which niches work best?

How many businesses lack a website depends heavily on the niche. In our tests:

| Search | Businesses without a website |
|---|---|
| Handyman in Denver / Houston | ~35% |
| Food trucks in Austin | ~36% |
| Nail salons in Denver / Houston | ~15–20% |
| Plumbers in Denver | ~11% |

Trades, beauty, food, cleaning, auto repair and other small owner-operated businesses give the best results.

### Lead score

The score adds up the signals that make a business worth calling:

| Signal | Points |
|---|---|
| Has a phone number | 30 |
| Reviews: 100+ / 20+ / 5+ / 1+ | 25 / 20 / 15 / 8 |
| Rating 4.0+ / 3.0+ | 15 / 8 |
| No website at all (social-only gets 8) | 15 |
| Unclaimed Google listing | 15 |

Sort by `leadScore` to call the most established, easiest-to-reach businesses first.

### FAQ

**Why do some businesses have no address?**
Service-area businesses such as handymen, mobile cleaners and plumbers often hide their street address on Google Maps. They still come with a phone number and a Google Maps link.

**Does it include businesses that only have a Facebook page?**
Yes, by default. Set **Which businesses count as a lead** to *No website at all* to exclude them.

**Are closed businesses included?**
No. Permanently closed businesses are skipped.

# Actor input Schema

## `categories` (type: `array`):

Types of business to look for, one per line, e.g. plumber, nail salon, food truck, roofing contractor. Each category is searched in every location below.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Cities, neighborhoods, ZIP codes or regions to search, e.g. "Denver, CO", "Brooklyn, NY", "90210". Tip: split a big city into neighborhoods or ZIP codes to find more businesses, since Google Maps returns a limited number of places per search.

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Free-form Google Maps searches, used as-is in addition to the category × location combinations, e.g. "food trucks in Austin".

## `maxLeads` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many businesses without a website have been found (across all searches). Set 0 for no limit.

## `websiteFilter` (type: `string`):

'No website or social page only' also includes businesses whose only listed site is a Facebook, Instagram, Yelp, Linktree or similar profile. 'No website at all' keeps only listings with no link whatsoever.

## `requirePhone` (type: `boolean`):

Skip businesses that don't list a phone number on Google Maps.

## `onlyUnclaimed` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only businesses whose Google Maps listing has not been claimed by the owner. These owners usually have no online presence at all.

## `minRating` (type: `number`):

Skip businesses rated below this (1–5). Leave at 0 to include unrated businesses.

## `minReviews` (type: `integer`):

Skip businesses with fewer Google reviews than this. A few reviews means an active, real business.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Language code for business categories and addresses, e.g. en, de, fr, es, pt-BR.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code that biases the search, e.g. us, gb, ca, au.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional. By default the actor connects directly and only falls back to proxies if Google starts blocking.
