## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Google Search Scraper - Organic Results by Country

Scrape Google organic search results for any keyword and export them as clean, ranked rows: position, title, URL, domain, snippet and publish date. Search from 50+ countries, scrape up to 11 results pages per query, filter by date, and use every Google search operator. No login, no browser and no proxy setup needed.

### What you get

Every organic result becomes one dataset row with:

- **Rank position**: overall `position` across pages, plus `page` and `positionOnPage`
- **Title** and **URL** of the ranking page (Google click-tracking parameters removed)
- **Domain**: the ranking site's hostname, ready for rank tracking and competitor counts
- **Snippet**: the description text Google shows under the result
- **Date**: the publish date Google shows for the result (`Sep 12, 2026` or `3 days ago`) plus a normalized `dateIso` (YYYY-MM-DD), when Google shows one
- **Search context**: the query, country and date filter used

Export to JSON, CSV, Excel or Google Sheets straight from the Apify console, or pull the data by API.

This scraper returns **organic results only**. It does not return ads, People Also Ask boxes, related searches, featured snippets, sitelinks or AI Overviews.

### Use cases

- **SEO rank tracking**: check where your site and your competitors rank for your target keywords, by country
- **Keyword and SERP research**: see which domains and content types dominate a topic before you write
- **Competitor analysis**: count how often each competitor domain ranks across a keyword list
- **Lead generation**: find businesses, directories and listings with operators like `site:`, `intitle:` and `inurl:`
- **Content and news monitoring**: track fresh pages about a brand or topic with the date filter

### How to use

1. Add one or more **Search queries**, one per line. Google operators work: `site:reddit.com mechanical keyboard`, `"exact phrase"`, `-exclude`, `intitle:`, `filetype:pdf`. You can also paste a Google search URL.
2. Pick the **Country** to search from. Results are localized to that country.
3. Set **Pages per query** (1 to 11, about 10 results per page).
4. Optionally set **Max results per query**, a **Date posted** window, or **Limit to website** to add `site:` to every query.
5. Run the scraper. Results appear in the **Output** tab, one row per organic result.

### Input example

```json
{
  "queries": ["best running shoes", "site:reddit.com mechanical keyboard"],
  "country": "US",
  "maxPagesPerQuery": 2,
  "maxResultsPerQuery": 0,
  "datePosted": "any"
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "recordType": "organic",
  "searchQuery": "best running shoes",
  "country": "US",
  "datePosted": null,
  "page": 1,
  "position": 1,
  "positionOnPage": 1,
  "title": "7 Best Running Shoes in 2026 - RunRepeat",
  "url": "https://runrepeat.com/guides/best-running-shoes",
  "domain": "runrepeat.com",
  "snippet": "The New Balance 1080 v15 stands out in the all-rounder game, bringing a whole new level of comfort while sustaining lightness and responsiveness ...",
  "date": "Sep 12, 2026",
  "dateIso": "2026-09-12",
  "message": null,
  "scrapedAt": "2026-09-29T02:21:32.657Z"
}
```

If a query has no results, you get a single row with `recordType: "notice"` and a `message`. Notice rows are free.

### Pricing

You pay per Google results page scraped. A page holds about 10 organic results, so 1 query with 3 pages costs 3 page events. Pages that return no results are free. Set **Max results per query** or lower **Pages per query** to control spend.

Free Apify plans can scrape up to 50 results per run. Upgrade to a paid plan to remove the limit.

### FAQ

**How many results can I get per query?**
Google serves up to 11 pages, which is roughly 100 to 110 organic results per query. Consecutive pages sometimes repeat a result; duplicates are removed, so a page can yield 8 or 9 new rows.

**Can I choose the language?**
Results are localized by country. There is no separate interface-language setting. Use operators or local-language keywords to target a language.

**Does it support Google search operators?**
Yes: `site:`, `"exact phrase"`, `-word`, `OR`, `intitle:`, `inurl:`, `filetype:` and more work inside your query.

**Can I scrape many keywords at once?**
Yes, up to 200 queries per run. Queries run in parallel.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Keywords to search on Google, one per line. Google operators work (site:, "exact phrase", -exclude, intitle:, inurl:, filetype:, OR). You can also paste a Google search URL; its q= parameter is used.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Country to search from. Results are localized to this country, like searching on Google from there.

## `maxPagesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

How many Google results pages to scrape per query (about 10 organic results per page). Google serves at most 11 pages.

## `maxResultsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Stop a query after this many organic results. 0 = keep every result on the pages scraped.

## `datePosted` (type: `string`):

Only return pages published within this time window.

## `site` (type: `string`):

Optional domain (e.g. reddit.com) to restrict every query to, same as adding site:reddit.com. Ignored for queries that already contain site:.

}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
One row per organic result. Fields: searchQuery, country, page, position, positionOnPage, title, url, domain, snippet, date, dateIso.
