## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TikTok Audience Demographics - Follower Countries & Stats

See where any TikTok creator's followers actually live before you sign a brand deal. Paste a list of creators and get each one's follower country breakdown, the share of their audience in your target markets, and their core profile stats in one row. No login, no TikTok account, no creator permission needed.

### What you get

One row per creator with:

**Audience location**

- `topCountry`, `topCountryCode` and `topCountryShare` (percentage of followers in the #1 country)
- `top3Countries` and `top3Share`: how concentrated the audience is
- `targetAudienceShare`: the percentage of followers in the countries you list in **Target countries** (e.g. US + GB + CA + AU)
- `audienceCountries`: the full breakdown, each entry with `country`, `countryCode`, `count` and `share` (percent)
- `audienceSummary`: a readable "US 20.47%, CA 6.43%, GB 5.85%, ..." string for spreadsheets
- `audienceSampleSize` and `audienceCountryCount`: how many followers were sampled and across how many countries
- `lowConfidence`: `true` when the sample is too small to trust (threshold is configurable)

**Profile stats**

- `username`, `nickname`, `profileUrl`, `userId`, `secUid`
- `followerCount`, `followingCount`, `heartCount` (total likes), `videoCount`, `friendCount`
- `verified`, `privateAccount`, `isBusinessAccount`
- `signature` (bio), `bioLink`, `avatarUrl`, `language`, `createTimeISO` (account creation date)

Export to JSON, CSV, Excel or Google Sheets from the **Dataset** tab, or pull results through the Apify API. The **Overview** view shows the headline numbers side by side for quick comparison.

### Use cases

- **Influencer vetting**: confirm a creator's followers are in the markets you sell to before paying for a post
- **Fake or bought audience checks**: a US lifestyle creator with most followers in unrelated countries is a red flag
- **Influencer shortlisting**: rank a list of candidates by `targetAudienceShare` and cut the ones that miss your market
- **Agency reporting**: attach audience geography to creator proposals and media kits
- **Competitor and market research**: see which countries a competitor's creator partners reach

### How to use

1. Add TikTok creators to **TikTok creators**: usernames (`mkbhd`, `@khaby.lame`) or profile URLs (`https://www.tiktok.com/@mkbhd`)
2. Optionally add your **Target countries** as two-letter codes (`US`, `GB`, `DE` ...) to get `targetAudienceShare`
3. Run the actor. Results appear in the **Dataset** tab, one row per creator

### Output example

```json
{
  "username": "mkbhd",
  "nickname": "Marques Brownlee",
  "profileUrl": "https://www.tiktok.com/@mkbhd",
  "verified": true,
  "followerCount": 2300000,
  "heartCount": 32800000,
  "videoCount": 175,
  "bioLink": "http://youtube.com/MKBHD",
  "audienceSampleSize": 171,
  "audienceCountryCount": 52,
  "topCountry": "United States",
  "topCountryCode": "US",
  "topCountryShare": 20.47,
  "top3Countries": "US, CA, GB",
  "top3Share": 32.75,
  "targetCountries": ["US", "GB", "CA", "AU"],
  "targetAudienceShare": 35.67,
  "audienceSummary": "US 20.47%, CA 6.43%, GB 5.85%, MY 4.68%, ID 4.68%, ...",
  "audienceCountries": [
    { "country": "United States", "countryCode": "US", "count": 35, "share": 20.47 },
    { "country": "Canada", "countryCode": "CA", "count": 11, "share": 6.43 }
  ],
  "lowConfidence": false,
  "error": null
}
```

### How the numbers are calculated

Audience shares are based on the location of a sample of each creator's followers, not on TikTok's private creator analytics. Shares add up to about 100% across all countries. `audienceSampleSize` tells you how many followers were sampled: treat small samples (flagged `lowConfidence`) as a rough signal only. The breakdown covers country only; TikTok does not expose follower age or gender publicly.

### Pricing

You pay per creator that comes back with audience data. Creators that don't exist, have been deactivated, or return no audience data are still listed in the dataset with an `error` message, and are **not charged**.

### FAQ

**Does it work on private accounts?** Profile stats are returned, but private accounts have no public audience data, so the row has an `error` and is not charged.

**Can I get age and gender?** No. Only country-level location is available for public follower data.

**How many creators can I check per run?** As many as you like. Duplicates are removed automatically.

# Actor input Schema

## `creators` (type: `array`):

TikTok usernames (with or without @) or profile URLs like https://www.tiktok.com/@mkbhd. One per line. Each creator becomes one dataset row.

## `targetCountries` (type: `array`):

Optional. Two-letter country codes of the markets your campaign targets (e.g. US, GB, CA, AU). The output then includes targetAudienceShare: the percentage of the creator's audience located in these countries combined. UK is accepted as GB.

## `minSampleSize` (type: `integer`):

Audience shares are computed from a sample of each creator's followers. Rows whose sample is smaller than this are flagged lowConfidence: true. Does not affect cost or which creators are returned.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "creators": [
    "mkbhd",
    "khaby.lame"
  ],
  "targetCountries": [
    "US",
    "GB",
    "CA",
    "AU"
  ],
  "minSampleSize": 50
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per creator: username, nickname, profileUrl, verified, privateAccount, signature, bioLink, followerCount, followingCount, heartCount, videoCount, audienceSampleSize, topCountry, topCountryCode, topCountryShare, top3Countries, top3Share, targetCountries, targetAudienceShare, audienceSummary, audienceCountries (country, countryCode, count, share), lowConfidence, error.
