## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TikTok Comment Replies Scraper - Reply Threads

Scrape the replies under TikTok comments. Paste video links and get every reply's text, likes, date and author, each linked to the comment it answers. Or paste a shared comment link to grab the replies to just that one comment. No login needed.

### What you get

One row per reply with:

- **Reply**: text, likes, date, language, and whether the video's creator liked it
- **Reply author**: username, display name, user ID, profile URL, avatar, verified flag
- **Thread context**: whether the reply answers another reply, and the ID of that reply
- **Parent comment**: ID, text, author, likes, date and total reply count
- **Video**: video ID and URL

### Use cases

- **Audience and sentiment research**: the real discussion on TikTok happens in reply threads, not top-level comments
- **Lead generation**: find people asking "where did you buy this?" or "how much?" under product videos
- **Community management**: export conversations under your own videos to answer questions you missed
- **Brand monitoring**: see how people respond to complaints or mentions of your brand
- **Content ideas**: mine heated debates and frequently asked follow-up questions

### How to use

1. Paste TikTok video URLs, short links (vm.tiktok.com) or video IDs, one per line. You can also paste a shared comment link (it contains `share_comment_id`) to scrape that comment's replies only
2. Choose how many top-level comments to scan per video, the max replies per comment, and optionally a minimum reply count to focus on the busiest threads
3. Set **Max replies in total** (0 = no limit)
4. Run the actor. Replies appear in the **Dataset** tab, ready to export to CSV, Excel or Google Sheets

### Output example

```json
{
  "replyId": "7689738732086592263",
  "text": "no one cares",
  "createdAt": "2026-09-25T18:15:30.000Z",
  "likes": 55,
  "likedByCreator": false,
  "isReplyToReply": true,
  "authorUsername": "nabalis",
  "authorProfileUrl": "https://www.tiktok.com/@nabalis",
  "parentCommentId": "7689535922711429894",
  "parentCommentText": "I'm Muslim",
  "parentCommentAuthor": "example_user",
  "parentReplyCount": 70,
  "videoId": "7689510970292489502"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event:

- **Reply**: per reply saved to the dataset
- **Comments page**: per page of top-level comments scanned (about 20-30 comments)
- **Reply thread page**: per page of replies loaded (up to 50 replies)

Comments without replies are never fetched. Free Apify plans get up to 50 replies per run (3 runs a day). Upgrade to a paid plan to remove these limits.

### FAQ

**Does it also scrape top-level comments?** Each reply row carries its parent comment's text, author and likes. To export every top-level comment of a video, use a TikTok comments scraper.

**Why do I see fewer replies than TikTok's counter?** TikTok's reply count includes deleted and hidden replies, which can't be retrieved.
