## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## TikTok Hashtag Analytics - Views, Videos & Trends

Measure any TikTok hashtag in seconds. Paste up to 500 hashtags and get each one's lifetime views and video count, plus engagement, top creators, top sounds and related hashtags calculated from its top videos. Compare hashtags side by side to pick the ones worth using.

### What you get

One row per hashtag with:

- **Lifetime size**: total views, total videos and average views per video
- **Hashtag info**: ID, title, description, cover image, branded-hashtag flag, hashtag page URL
- **Top-video performance**: average and median views, average likes, comments, shares and saves, and engagement rate
- **Format signals**: average video length and the share of top videos using an original sound
- **Freshness**: newest top video date and how many top videos were posted in the last 30 days
- **Top creators**: the creators with the most views among the top videos
- **Top sounds**: the most-used sounds in the hashtag
- **Related hashtags**: the hashtags most often used together with it
- Optional **top videos list** with each video's URL, caption, creator, date, duration, stats, engagement rate and sound

### Use cases

- **Hashtag research**: choose hashtags with real reach instead of guessing
- **Content strategy**: learn the video length, sounds and engagement that work in a niche
- **Influencer discovery**: find the creators who dominate a hashtag
- **Trend tracking**: run the same hashtags on a schedule and chart views and video counts over time
- **Campaign reporting**: measure the size of a branded hashtag challenge

### How to use

1. Enter hashtags, one per line, with or without #
2. Choose how many top videos to analyze per hashtag (default 30, up to 120, or 0 for lifetime totals only)
3. Optionally turn on **Include the top videos list**
4. Run the actor. Results appear in the **Dataset** tab; the **Overview** view compares all hashtags at a glance
5. Export to CSV, Excel, JSON or Google Sheets

### Output example

```json
{
  "hashtag": "booktok",
  "topSounds": [{ "title": "Chopin Nocturne No. 2", "author": "moshimo sound design", "count": 1 }]
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event:

- **Hashtag**: per hashtag analyzed (lifetime views and video count)
- **Top videos page**: per page of top videos analyzed (about 19 videos per page; the default of 30 top videos uses 2 pages)

Hashtags that don't exist and invalid input are free. Free Apify plans can analyze up to 5 hashtags per run (3 runs a day). Upgrade to a paid plan to remove these limits.

### FAQ

**Which videos are the "top videos"?** The videos TikTok itself shows first on the hashtag page, which are its most popular, not its newest. Ads are excluded.

**Why is average views per video so much lower than the top videos' median?** Most videos in a big hashtag get few views. The lifetime average shows what a typical post gets; the top-video numbers show what the winners get.

# Actor input Schema
