## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TikTok MP3 Downloader - Sound & Audio Extractor

Download the sound from any TikTok video as an MP3 file. Paste video links, short links or IDs, up to 500 per run, and get a permanent MP3 download link for each one, plus the sound's title, artist, duration and the video's details. No watermark, no login, no browser extension.

### What you get

One row per video with:

- **MP3 file**: `mp3Url`, a permanent download link stored in the run's key-value store, plus `fileName` and `fileSizeBytes`
- **Sound details**: title, artist, album, sound ID, sound page URL, cover image, duration, and whether it's an original sound
- **Video details**: video ID, URL, caption, creator, post date and views

Photo slideshows work too: you get the sound that plays behind the images.

### Use cases

- **Content creators**: save trending sounds to reuse in your own edits
- **Music and audio research**: build a library of the sounds behind viral videos
- **Transcription**: feed the MP3 into a speech-to-text tool to get what was said
- **Archiving**: keep the audio of videos before they're deleted
- **Marketing**: collect the sounds used by competitors or in a campaign

### How to use

1. Paste TikTok video URLs, vm.tiktok.com short links or video IDs, one per line
2. Run the actor
3. Open the **Dataset** tab and click each `mp3Url` to download, or open the **Key-value store** tab to see every file
4. Export the list to CSV, Excel or JSON

### Output example

```json
{
  "inputUrl": "https://www.tiktok.com/@khaby.lame/video/7689510970292489502",
  "status": "ok",
  "mp3Url": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/abc123/records/khabylame-original-sound-7689510970292489502",
  "fileName": "khabylame-original-sound-7689510970292489502.mp3",
  "fileSizeBytes": 418524,
  "durationSeconds": 26,
  "soundTitle": "original sound",
  "soundAuthor": "Khabane lame",
  "isOriginalSound": true,
  "videoAuthor": "khaby.lame",
  "videoViews": 21400000
}
```

### Pricing

You pay per MP3 saved. Deleted videos, private videos, posts without a sound and invalid links are free and show up as rows with a `status` and `message`.

Free Apify plans can download up to 5 MP3s per run (3 runs a day). Upgrade to a paid plan to remove these limits.

### FAQ

**How long do the MP3 links last?** Files live in your run's key-value store and follow your Apify storage retention, so they don't expire like TikTok's own links.

**Can I download copyrighted songs?** You are responsible for how you use downloaded audio. Respect the rights of artists and creators.
