## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TikTok Slideshow Downloader - Photos & Sound in Full Quality

Download every photo from TikTok photo slideshows (carousels) in original quality, without a watermark, plus the sound as an MP3. Paste post links, up to 500 per run, and get a permanent download link for each photo, along with the caption, creator and engagement counts. No login, no app, no browser extension.

### What you get

One row per slideshow with:

- **Photos**: a permanent download link for every photo in the slideshow, in the order it's shown, with the file name, width, height and file size (`photos`), plus a plain list of links (`photoUrls`)
- **Sound**: the slideshow's sound saved as an MP3 (`audioUrl`), with its title and artist
- **Post details**: post ID and URL, creator username and display name, slideshow title, caption, post date, views, likes, comments, shares and saves

All files are also listed in the run's **Key-value store**, so you can download them in one place.

### Use cases

- **Content creators**: save slideshow photos and sounds to remix or reference in your own posts
- **Social media managers**: archive your brand's carousels, or collect competitor and UGC slideshows for inspiration
- **Marketing research**: build a swipe file of viral photo-carousel formats in your niche
- **Design and mood boards**: collect full-resolution images from aesthetic and photo-dump slideshows
- **Archiving**: keep slideshows before they're deleted

### How to use

1. Paste TikTok slideshow links (`tiktok.com/@user/photo/...`), vm.tiktok.com short links or post IDs, one per line
2. Leave **Download the sound** on to also get the MP3
3. Run the actor
4. Open the **Dataset** tab and click the links in `photoUrls`, or open the **Key-value store** tab to see every file
5. Export the list to CSV, Excel or JSON

### Pricing

You pay a small fee per slideshow plus a fee per photo saved. The sound MP3 is included at no extra cost.

Video posts (not slideshows), deleted or private posts, and invalid links are free. They appear as rows with a `status` and a `message` explaining why. If a photo can't be downloaded you're only charged for the photos that were saved.

Free Apify plans can download up to 5 slideshows per run (3 runs a day). Upgrade to a paid plan to remove these limits.

### FAQ

**Are the photos watermarked?** No. You get the original photos as uploaded to TikTok.

**How long do the download links last?** Files live in your run's key-value store and follow your Apify storage retention, so they don't expire like TikTok's own links.

**Can I download regular TikTok videos?** This actor is for photo slideshows. Video posts come back with `status: "not_slideshow"` and aren't charged.

**Can I use the photos commercially?** You're responsible for how you use downloaded content. Respect the rights of creators.
