## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## TikTok Transcript Scraper - Video to Text with Timestamps

Turn any TikTok video into text. Paste video links, or enter a username to transcribe a creator's latest videos in bulk, and get the full transcript of each one with timestamps, language and word count, plus the video's caption, creator, date and engagement. No login, no browser extension.

### What you get

One row per video with:

- **Transcript**: the full spoken text in `transcript`, plus `wordCount` and the detected `language`
- **Timestamps**: a `segments` list with the start and end time (in seconds) of every line of speech, ready for subtitles or clipping
- **Source**: `captions` when TikTok already has captions for the video, `speech-to-text` when the audio was transcribed for you
- **Video details**: video ID and URL, creator username and display name, caption text, post date, duration, views, likes, comments and shares
- **Available languages**: every caption language TikTok has for the video

### Use cases

- **Content research**: read what top creators in your niche actually say, without watching hours of video
- **Repurposing**: turn TikToks into blog posts, newsletters, tweets or YouTube scripts
- **Hook and script analysis**: study the first lines of viral videos to write better hooks
- **Brand and product monitoring**: find every time a creator mentions your brand or a competitor
- **AI and LLM workflows**: feed clean transcripts into ChatGPT, Claude or your own model for summaries and insights
- **Subtitles and accessibility**: export timestamped segments as captions

### How to use

1. Paste TikTok video links (or vm.tiktok.com short links / video IDs), one per line, and/or
2. Enter TikTok usernames in **TikTok profiles** and set **Max videos per profile**
3. Optionally pick a **Preferred language** (e.g. `en`)
4. Run the actor and open the **Dataset** tab

### Pricing

- **Transcript**: a small fee per video transcribed
- **Speech-to-text minute**: videos without TikTok captions are transcribed from the audio and add a per-minute fee (rounded up to the next minute). Turn off **Transcribe videos without captions** to never pay this

Videos with no spoken words (music, sound effects, text-only), photo slideshows, deleted or private videos and invalid links are free. They appear as rows with a `status` and a `message` explaining why.

Free Apify plans can transcribe up to 5 videos per run (3 runs a day). Upgrade to a paid plan to remove these limits.

### FAQ

**How accurate are the transcripts?** Videos with TikTok captions come back exactly as TikTok shows them. Other videos are transcribed from the audio with a high-accuracy speech model and include timestamps too.

**Which languages are supported?** Any language TikTok captions or that is spoken clearly in the video. The detected language is returned in `language`.

**Why is a video marked `no_speech`?** The video only has music, sound effects or on-screen text, so there is nothing to transcribe. You are not charged.

**Can I transcribe a whole profile?** Yes. Add the username to **TikTok profiles** and set **Max videos per profile** (up to 500). The newest videos are transcribed first.

# Actor input Schema

## `videoUrls` (type: `array`):

TikTok video URLs, short links (vm.tiktok.com) or video IDs, one per line (up to 500 per run).

## `profiles` (type: `array`):

Usernames (with or without @) or profile URLs. The latest videos of each profile are transcribed.

## `maxVideosPerProfile` (type: `integer`):

How many of the most recent videos to transcribe for each profile (1-500).

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code (e.g. en, es, de). When TikTok has captions in several languages this one is picked; otherwise the original language is used. Leave empty for the video's own language.

## `aiFallback` (type: `boolean`):

When a video has no TikTok captions, listen to the audio and transcribe it with speech-to-text (charged per minute of video). Turn off to only return videos that already have captions.

## `includeTimestamps` (type: `boolean`):

Add a segments list with start and end times (in seconds) for every line of speech.

}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
One row per video: transcript text, word count, language, timestamped segments, and the video's author, caption, date, duration and engagement counts.
