## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TikTok Trending Hashtags Scraper - Country & Industry Charts

Get the trending TikTok hashtags for any of 27 countries, broken down by industry and by a 7, 30 or 90-day window. Every hashtag comes with its chart rank, post count, video views, a daily popularity curve, a ready-made trend stage (rising, peaking, steady or fading) and the top creators using it. No TikTok account or login needed.

### What you get

For each trending hashtag:

- **Rank** and the **chart** it ranks in (all industries, or an industry like Beauty & Personal Care or Games)
- **Hashtag**, hashtag ID and a link to the TikTok hashtag page
- **Post count**, **video views** and **views per post** for the selected window
- **Industries** the hashtag is tagged with
- **Ranked in**: every chart the hashtag appears in, with its rank in each (a tag can top both the overall and an industry chart)
- **Popularity curve**: one point per day on a 0-100 index (7, 30 or 90 points)
- **Trend stage** (rising / peaking / steady / fading), **momentum** and **peak date**, computed from the curve
- **Top creators** posting with the hashtag: username, nickname, follower count and profile link
- Country code, country name, window length and scrape time

Export to JSON, CSV, Excel or Google Sheets from the **Dataset** tab, or pull results through the API.

### Use cases

- **Content planning**: find the hashtags gaining momentum in your market before they peak
- **Social media marketing**: pick niche hashtags per industry instead of guessing
- **Trend research and market research**: compare what is trending across countries and verticals
- **Influencer discovery**: see which creators are driving each trending hashtag
- **Agency reporting**: drop a weekly trending-hashtag snapshot into client reports

### How to use

1. Pick one or more **Countries**
2. Choose a **Time period**: last 7, 30 or 90 days
3. Choose an **Industry**:
   - **Every industry** (default) combines the overall chart with all 15 industry charts, about 40-48 unique hashtags per country
   - A single industry returns that industry's chart
   - **Overall chart only** returns the top hashtags across all industries
4. Set **Max results** to cap the number of hashtags per run (0 = no limit)
5. Click **Start**. Results appear in the **Dataset** tab

### How many hashtags will I get?

TikTok shows signed-out visitors the **top 3 hashtags for each chart** (one country, one window, one industry). Any tool that skips login hits the same limit, and "top 100" claims don't change it. This actor gets more out of each country by reading all 16 charts (overall plus 15 industries) and merging them into one de-duplicated list:

| Setting | Hashtags per country |
|---|---|
| Every industry | about 40-48 |
| One industry | 3 |
| Overall chart only | 3 |

If you want a bigger picture, add more countries, or run the 7, 30 and 90-day windows separately.

### Supported countries

United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, South Africa, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

### Industries

Education, Vehicle & Transportation, Baby, Kids & Maternity, Beauty & Personal Care, Tech & Electronics, Travel, Household Products, Pets, Home Improvement, Apparel & Accessories, News & Entertainment, Games, Food & Beverage, Sports & Outdoor and Health.

```
### Field notes
- **popularityCurve** is TikTok's normalised index: the busiest day in the window is always 100, so it shows shape, not volume.
- **trendStage**: `rising` = peaked in the last few days of the window, `peaking` = still at 70+ on the last day, `fading` = last day under half of the peak, `steady` = everything else.
- **momentum** = last day's index minus the window average. Positive means the hashtag is above its usual level.
- TikTok doesn't publish rank changes, so there is no "rank change" field.
### Pricing
You pay per hashtag saved to the dataset. Hashtags that are skipped or not returned are not charged. A full "Every industry" sweep of one country is about 40-48 hashtags.
### FAQ
**Do I need a TikTok account?** No. The actor reads the same public trend charts a signed-out visitor sees.
**Why only 3 hashtags per chart?** That is all TikTok shows without a login. Use **Every industry** to combine 16 charts per country.
**Is there a 120-day window?** No. TikTok now offers 7, 30 and 90 days.
**How fresh is the data?** The charts are read live on every run. The popularity curve normally ends a day or two before the run date.
