## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## TikTok Trending Sounds Chart - Viral Songs by Country

Find the TikTok sounds and songs that are trending right now in any country and in any Explore category. The actor reads a live sample of the videos TikTok is pushing to viewers, finds every sound in them, and ranks the sounds by how fast they are growing: total videos made with the sound divided by its age in days. New sounds gaining thousands of uses a day rise to the top; old evergreen audio drops down. No login and no TikTok account needed.

### What you get

One row per sound, fastest-growing first:

- **Sound**: rank, sound ID, title, artist, album, original-sound flag, duration, cover image, audio preview URL and TikTok sound page URL
- **Growth**: total videos ever made with the sound, uses per day, the date the sound was created and its age in days
- **Live feed signal**: how many sampled videos and different creators used the sound, their combined plays, average plays per video, share of the sample and the Explore categories it appeared in
- **Top videos**: the three most-played sampled videos using the sound, with URL, creator, plays, likes and post date

Every run also saves a summary in the **Key-value store** as `OUTPUT`: videos sampled per category, distinct sounds seen and sounds returned.

### Use cases

- **Content planning for creators and social media managers**: pick audio that is climbing now, before it peaks
- **Music marketing and A\&R**: spot breakout songs and remixes by country and niche
- **Brand and agency trend research**: see which sounds dominate Food, Beauty, Fitness, Comedy or any other niche
- **Trend reports and newsletters**: export a weekly chart per market to CSV or Google Sheets
- **Competitor and campaign research**: open the top videos using each sound to see how others use it

### How to use

1. Pick a **Country**
2. Pick one or more **Explore categories** (All = the main feed)
3. Set **Max sounds** (default 50)
4. Run the actor and open the **Dataset** tab
5. Export to CSV, Excel, JSON or Google Sheets

Schedule the actor daily or weekly to keep a running chart.

**Tips**

- Turn off **Include original sounds** to get licensed songs only.
- Raise **Videos to sample per category** for a deeper chart. Sampling is billed per 100 videos read, and each sound returned is billed separately.
- Raise **Min creators in sample** to 2 or 3 for a stricter chart of sounds many creators are already using.

### Pricing

You pay per 100 Explore videos sampled and per sound returned. A default run (1 category, 500 videos, 50 sounds) is 5 sampling units plus 50 sounds.

### How the ranking works

TikTok no longer publishes a public sounds chart: the Creative Center songs list now requires a logged-in business account. So this actor measures the trend directly. It samples the videos on TikTok's Explore feed for your country and categories, collects every sound they use, looks up each candidate sound's total video count and creation date, and ranks by uses per day since creation.

### FAQ

**Which countries are supported?** 24 markets including the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Indonesia and more. The United States isn't available: since TikTok's US operations were split off, the US app no longer serves the public Explore feed. India isn't available because TikTok is banned there.

**Is this TikTok's official chart?** No. TikTok doesn't publish one publicly anymore. This chart is measured from what TikTok's Explore feed shows viewers in the chosen country at run time, combined with each sound's total usage.

**Can I use these sounds in ads?** Check the sound in TikTok's Commercial Music Library before using it in paid or branded content. This actor doesn't confirm licensing.

**Why do results change between runs?** The Explore feed changes constantly, so every run samples a fresh set of videos. Fast-growing sounds show up consistently; borderline ones may come and go.

# Actor input Schema

## `country` (type: `string`):

Which country's TikTok to measure. The actor watches what TikTok is pushing to viewers in this country right now. The United States isn't available: TikTok's US app no longer serves the public Explore feed.

## `categories` (type: `array`):

TikTok Explore categories to sample. 'All' is the main feed; add niches (Food, Beauty Care, Fitness …) to find the sounds trending in that niche.

## `maxSounds` (type: `integer`):

How many trending sounds to return, ranked fastest-growing first.

## `videosPerCategory` (type: `integer`):

How many live Explore videos to read per category before ranking. Bigger samples surface more sounds and take longer. Billed per 100 videos sampled.

## `includeOriginalSounds` (type: `boolean`):

Original sounds are audio creators recorded themselves (voiceovers, memes, remixes). Most viral TikTok audio is original. Turn off to get licensed songs only.

## `minSampleVideos` (type: `integer`):

Only consider sounds used by at least this many different creators in the sampled videos. Raise to 2-3 for a stricter, shorter chart.

## `includeUsageStats` (type: `boolean`):

Look up each sound's all-time video count and creation date, and rank by uses per day. Turning this off ranks by sample frequency only.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "country": "GB",
  "categories": [
    "all",
    "singing_dancing"
  ],
  "maxSounds": 50,
  "videosPerCategory": 500,
  "includeOriginalSounds": true,
  "minSampleVideos": 1,
  "includeUsageStats": true
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per sound: rank, title, artist, original-sound flag, total videos using it, uses per day, sound age, how often it appeared in the sampled feed, categories and its top sampled videos.

## `summary` (type: `string`):

Country, videos sampled per category, distinct sounds seen and sounds returned.
