## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## WeChat Articles Scraper - Official Account Posts

Search WeChat Official Account (公众号) articles by keyword and export the title, account name, publish date, summary, cover image and article link. You can also add the full article text. No WeChat account or login needed.

### What you get

- **Title** of every matching article
- **Official account name** that published it (e.g. 重庆发布, Wind万得)
- **Publish date** as an ISO timestamp, plus the raw Unix timestamp
- **Summary** snippet and **cover image URL** (original `mmbiz.qpic.cn` image)
- **Article URL** on `mp.weixin.qq.com`, plus a **permanent article link** whenever one can be found (see below)
- **Search rank** and the keyword that found it
- Optional **full article text**, word count, every image URL in the article, author byline, the account's `gh_...` ID and the article's `biz` / `mid` / `idx` identifiers
- Export to JSON, CSV, Excel or Google Sheets from the Apify console

### Use cases

- **China market research**: track what Chinese brands, media and government accounts publish about a topic
- **Competitor and brand monitoring**: find every WeChat article that mentions your brand or a competitor
- **Media monitoring and PR**: collect press coverage on WeChat for a campaign or event
- **Content research**: study headlines, publishing times and article length for a niche
- **Datasets for NLP and translation**: build Chinese-language text corpora with full article bodies

### How to use

1. Enter one or more **Search keywords** (Chinese or English), one per line
2. Optionally enter an **Official account name** to keep only that account's articles
3. Set **Max articles per keyword** (up to 100)
4. Turn on **Include full article text** if you need the article body
5. Run the actor. Results appear in the **Dataset** tab

Each keyword returns up to about 100 articles, which is the most the WeChat article search shows per query. To collect more, add more specific keywords (for example `新能源汽车 出口`, `新能源汽车 电池`, `新能源汽车 补贴`).

### Input example

```json
{
  "keywords": ["人工智能", "新能源汽车"],
  "maxResultsPerKeyword": 50,
  "includeFullText": true
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "keyword": "跨境电商",
  "rank": 2,
  "title": "跨境电商面临“最不确定的三年”,这些企业为何超量备货",
  "accountName": "第一财经",
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-22T14:40:39.000Z",
  "publishedTimestamp": 1792680039,
  "summary": "2026.10.22本文字数:2938,阅读时长大约5分钟作者 | 第一财经 缪琦“今年是过去三年跨境电商最难的一年,但不确定会不会是未来...",
  "coverImageUrl": "https://mmbiz.qpic.cn/sz_mmbiz_jpg/1NNic30RcBCLjRx2WbSicJBF6iciarQLOfnfm0BKibuF1azTQY1ZfPibTZz2qo3C9VHIuByRzG5F3mTzCJW6KkAT2uMtk71AFI8JbqQVTx5QLakqQ/0?wx_fmt=jpeg",
  "url": "https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s?src=11&timestamp=1792720470&ver=7043&signature=...&new=1",
  "permanentUrl": null,
  "originalArticleUrl": null,
  "author": "缪琦",
  "accountId": "gh_7fbf45a6a562",
  "biz": "MjM5MTM3NTMwNA==",
  "mid": "2661828030",
  "idx": "2",
  "fullText": "2026.10.22\n本文字数：2938，阅读时长大约5分钟\n作者 | 第一财经 缪琦\n“今年是过去三年跨境电商最难的一年，但不确定会不会是未来三年最好的一年。”...",
  "wordCount": 2570,
  "imageUrls": ["https://mmbiz.qpic.cn/mmbiz_png/1NNic30RcBCImfzrtspUBzHs73Pyjt4dRlYFGic4auBslJsutnHOibCoBOIGuicDCE36ia2tJROkiaJXQFSGY7oCn4xdXyWdiamE1wfjRPlw8ZZFv4/640?wx_fmt=png&from=appmsg"],
  "fullTextError": null,
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-23T01:54:28.851Z"
}
```

`permanentUrl`, `originalArticleUrl`, `author`, `accountId`, `biz`, `mid`, `idx`, `fullText`, `wordCount` and `imageUrls` are only filled when **Include full article text** is on. `author` is `null` when the article has no byline, and `accountId` is `null` for some reposted articles.

### Good to know

- **`url` is a temporary link.** WeChat search only hands out signed article links, and these stop working after a while (usually some hours). Open or archive the articles soon after the run, or turn on full text to save the content right away.
- **`permanentUrl`** (`https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s?__biz=…&mid=…&idx=…&sn=…`) never expires. WeChat hides it from search visitors, so the actor can only recover it when the article belongs to one of the account's public collections (合集). In our tests that was about 10-20% of articles; for the rest it is `null`. Requires **Include full article text**.
- **`originalArticleUrl`** is the permanent link of the original article when the result is a "shared" post that only links to another account's article.
- `biz` + `mid` + `idx` always identify the article uniquely and are filled for every article when full text is on, so you can de-duplicate across runs even without a permanent link.
- **Account filter is best effort.** WeChat search has no "articles from this account" filter, so the actor adds the account name to each search and keeps only matching accounts. You get the account's articles that appear in search results, not its complete history.
- **Search order** is relevance, as shown by WeChat search. Date filters are not available without a WeChat login.
- Deleted or blocked articles still appear in search but the full text is empty, with the reason in `fullTextError`.

### Pricing

Pay per result: one charge per article saved, plus one extra charge per article when full text is included. Free plan users can test up to 50 articles per run.

### FAQ

**Do I need a WeChat account?** No. The actor only reads publicly searchable articles.

**Can I search in English?** Yes, but most Official Account content is in Chinese, so Chinese keywords return far more results.

**Why did I get fewer than 100 articles for a keyword?** The search shows about 10 pages per query and some pages contain duplicates, so 85-95 unique articles is typical. Rare keywords may return fewer.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keywords to search WeChat Official Account articles for, one per line. Chinese or English. Each keyword is searched separately (up to about 100 articles per keyword), so add several specific keywords to collect more articles.

## `accountName` (type: `string`):

Only keep articles published by Official Accounts whose name contains this text (e.g. 重庆发布). The name is also added to each search to surface more of that account's articles. Leave Search keywords empty to search by the account name alone. Best effort: this returns the account's articles that appear in search results, not its complete archive.

## `maxResultsPerKeyword` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of articles to save for each keyword. Search exposes at most about 100 articles per keyword.

## `includeFullText` (type: `boolean`):

Open every article and add its full body text, word count, image URLs, author, account ID (gh\_...), article IDs and, when available, a permanent article link that does not expire. Slower and billed as an extra event per article.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional. Leave off by default. Enable a proxy (residential recommended) only if runs start reporting rate limits or captcha pages.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "keywords": [
    "人工智能"
  ],
  "maxResultsPerKeyword": 20,
  "includeFullText": false,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One record per article: keyword, rank, title, accountName, publishedAt, publishedTimestamp, summary, coverImageUrl, url (temporary), and with full text on: permanentUrl (when recoverable), originalArticleUrl, author, accountId, biz, mid, idx, fullText, wordCount, imageUrls.
