## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Weibo Profile Scraper - 微博 Posts, Comments & Replies

Scrape any Weibo (微博, China's Twitter) account: profile details with followers, total likes and verification, every post with its likes, reposts, comments, images and video, and the comments and replies under each post. You can also paste single post URLs to export their comment sections. No login and no Weibo account needed.

### What you get

All rows go into one dataset, and the `type` field tells them apart. The Dataset tab has separate **Profiles**, **Posts** and **Comments & replies** views.

- **Profile** (`type: "profile"`): screen name, user ID, custom handle, bio, gender, location, followers, following, post count, lifetime likes, comments and reposts, verified flag and verification reason, celebrity flag, member level, VIP flag, website, avatar and cover image
- **Post** (`type: "post"`): full text, hashtags, post URL, publish time, likes, reposts, comments, images, video file and video page, posting device or source, posting location (IP region), pinned flag, repost info (original post text, author and link), author name, ID, followers and verification
- **Comment** (`type: "comment"`): text, attached images, likes, reply count, floor number, time, commenter location (IP region), whether the post author liked it, whether the post author wrote it, and the commenter's name, ID, followers, verification, gender, location and avatar
- **Reply** (`type: "reply"`): the same fields as a comment, plus the parent comment ID and, for replies to replies, which reply and user it answers

### Input options

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Weibo profiles | Profile URLs (`weibo.com/u/…`, `weibo.com/<handle>`, `m.weibo.cn/u/…`), numeric user IDs or screen names such as `人民日报` |
| Post URLs | Individual post URLs (`weibo.com/<user>/<post>`, `m.weibo.cn/detail/…`) or post IDs, to export a post and its comments |
| Posts to collect | All posts including reposts, or original posts only |
| Max posts per profile | How many of the latest posts to collect. Set 0 for profile details only |
| Full text of long posts | Weibo cuts long posts short in timelines. Leave this on to get the full text |
| Max comments per post | How many comments to collect per post, most popular first. 0 = none |
| Max replies per comment | How many replies to collect per comment, most liked first (up to 20) |

### Use cases

- **Brand and celebrity research**: track a star's or brand's posting history, engagement and audience reactions
- **Sentiment analysis**: export full comment threads with commenter location and verification for Chinese-language sentiment and opinion research
- **PR and crisis monitoring**: follow how the public responds to a brand statement or a celebrity post, reply by reply
- **Influencer (KOL) vetting**: check followers, lifetime engagement and how recent posts perform before a campaign
- **Competitor analysis**: compare posting frequency, content and engagement across competing official accounts

### How to use

1. Add one or more **Weibo profiles** (URL, user ID or screen name), and/or **Post URLs**
2. Choose **All posts** or **Original posts only**, and set **Max posts per profile**
3. To get comments, set **Max comments per post** above 0, and **Max replies per comment** for replies
4. Run the actor and export the results from the **Dataset** tab as JSON, CSV or Excel. Use the views to see profiles, posts or comments on their own

### Pricing

You pay per row exported:

- `profile`: one per Weibo account
- `post`: one per post
- `full-text`: one extra per long post whose full text is looked up (only when **Full text of long posts** is on and Weibo cut the post short)
- `comment`: one per comment
- `reply`: one per reply

### FAQ

**Do I need a Weibo account or cookies?** No.

**Can I use a screen name instead of a URL?** Yes. The actor looks the name up and uses the account with that exact name. If there is no exact match, it uses the closest account whose name contains yours and says so in the log. User IDs and profile URLs are always exact.

**Why does a profile return fewer posts than its post count?** Some accounts choose to show only their last six months (or fewer) of posts to visitors, and deleted or hidden posts aren't counted. The actor collects everything Weibo shows.

**Why do some posts show exactly 1,000,000 reposts or comments?** Weibo shows anything over a million as "100万+", so 1,000,000 means "one million or more". Like counts are exact.

**Why are replies capped at 20 per comment?** Weibo shows the 20 most liked replies under each comment. That is all the actor can collect.

**Why is `textTruncated` true on some posts?** Those posts were cut short and **Full text of long posts** was off. Turn it on to get their full text.

**Which comments come first?** The most popular comments, the same order Weibo shows by default.

# Actor input Schema

## `profiles` (type: `array`):

Profile URLs (https://weibo.com/u/…, https://weibo.com/<handle>, m.weibo.cn/u/…), numeric user IDs, or screen names (e.g. 迪丽热巴 or @人民日报). One per line.

## `postUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional. Individual post URLs (https://weibo.com/<user>/<post>, m.weibo.cn/detail/…) or post IDs. Each post is exported with its details, plus its comments if Max comments per post is above 0.

## `postType` (type: `string`):

Collect every post on the profile timeline, or only the account's own original posts.

## `maxPostsPerProfile` (type: `integer`):

How many of each profile's latest posts to collect. 0 = profile details only.

## `fetchFullText` (type: `boolean`):

Weibo cuts long posts short in profile timelines. When on, each cut post is looked up for its full text (one extra full-text event per long post). When off, those posts are flagged with textTruncated.

## `maxCommentsPerPost` (type: `integer`):

How many top comments to collect for each post (most popular first). 0 = no comments.

## `maxRepliesPerComment` (type: `integer`):

How many replies to collect under each comment (most liked first, up to 20). 0 = no replies. Only used when Max comments per post is above 0.
