## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Yellow Pages Scraper - US Business Leads & Emails

Extract US business listings from YellowPages.com. Search any trade, business type or company name in any US city or ZIP code and get a clean lead list with phone numbers, emails, websites, full addresses, ratings and reviews.

### What you get

For every business:

- **name, category, categories** - company name and all its Yellow Pages categories (e.g. Plumbers, Water Heater Repair)
- **phone** - main phone number
- **website** - the business's own website, with tracking parameters removed
- **street, city, region, postalCode, address** - e.g. `1319 S La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90019`
- **rating, reviewCount** - average star rating and number of reviews
- **openingHours** - e.g. `Mo-Fr 08:00-17:00`
- **badge** - years listed on Yellow Pages (e.g. `15 Years with Yellow Pages`)
- **isPaidListing** - whether the business advertises on Yellow Pages
- **description** - the business's own blurb, when shown in results
- **detailUrl, listingId, logoUrl**

Turn on **Include business details** to also get:

- **email** - the business's contact email, wherever it is published
- **latitude, longitude** - GPS coordinates
- **services** - services and products offered
- **paymentMethods** - e.g. visa, mastercard, check, financing available
- **district** - neighborhoods served
- **phones** - extra phone numbers
- **description** - the full "General info" text

### Use cases

- **B2B lead generation** - build lists of contractors, medical practices, law firms and shops in any US city
- **Sales prospecting** - get phone numbers, emails and websites for cold calling and email campaigns
- **Local market research** - count and map competitors by category and ZIP code
- **Data enrichment** - add phone, website and address data to existing company lists
- **Agency outreach** - find local businesses with no website or low ratings

### How to use

1. Enter one or more **Search terms**, e.g. `plumbers`, `dentists`, `roofing contractors`, `lawyers`.
2. Enter one or more **Locations**: a city with its state (`Los Angeles, CA`, `Chicago, IL`) or a ZIP code (`10001`).
3. Set **Max businesses** (0 = no limit). Every search term is combined with every location.
4. Optionally turn on **Include business details** for emails, coordinates, services and payment methods.
5. Run the actor and export the results from the **Dataset** tab as CSV, Excel, JSON or Google Sheets.

You can also paste YellowPages.com search URLs (e.g. `https://www.yellowpages.com/search?search_terms=plumbers&geo_location_terms=Los+Angeles%2C+CA`) or category pages (e.g. `https://www.yellowpages.com/los-angeles-ca/plumbers`) into **Start URLs**.

}
```
### Good to know
- Yellow Pages shows 30 businesses per page and often thousands per search. The actor pages through automatically until it reaches **Max businesses**.
- Emails are only on business pages, so turn on **Include business details** if you need them. How many businesses publish one depends on the category: in our tests about 80% of Miami lawyers and 40% of roofing contractors had an email, while chain dental practices rarely do.
- Advertisers appear first in Yellow Pages results. Use **isPaidListing** to separate them from free listings.
- The same business found by two searches is returned only once.
