## Pricing

from $0.20 / 1,000 suggestions

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Keyword Suggestions Scraper (Google, YouTube, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Amazon)

Real search phrases people type, straight from the autocomplete boxes of Google, YouTube, Bing, DuckDuckGo and Amazon. Give it seed keywords, pick the engines, choose a language and country, and get one item per unique suggestion. Turn on letter expansion (seed + a, seed + b, ...) and question expansion (how, what, why, best, vs ...) to grow one seed into hundreds of long-tail ideas.

No API key, no browser, no login. Built for SEO keyword research, YouTube title ideas, Amazon listing keywords, content planning and PPC negative-keyword mining.

### What you get

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `seed`, `source` | The seed keyword and the engine |
| `suggestion` | The suggested phrase |
| `query` | The exact text that was sent to get it (seed, seed + letter, or question + seed) |
| `position` | Order of discovery within that seed and source |
| `error`, `errorMessage` | Only when a seed and source pair failed |

### Sample output

```json
{ "seed": "python tutorial", "source": "youtube", "query": "python tutorial", "suggestion": "python tutorial for beginners", "position": 2, "fetchedAt": "2026-11-05T18:00:00.000Z" }
```

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `keywords` | array of strings | required | Seed keywords. |
| `sources` | array | `["google"]` | Any of `google`, `youtube`, `bing`, `duckduckgo`, `amazon`. |
| `expandWithLetters` | boolean | `false` | Adds 36 queries per seed and source: seed + a to z and 0 to 9. |
| `expandWithQuestions` | boolean | `false` | Adds 16 queries per seed and source with question and modifier words. |
| `language`, `country` | strings | `en`, `US` | Localisation. For Amazon the country picks the marketplace. |
| `maxConcurrency` | integer | `4` | Seed and source pairs in parallel. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Apify datacenter proxy | Proxy for all requests. |
| `residentialFallback` | boolean | `true` | Retry a blocked pair through residential proxies, only on a detected block. |

Minimal input:

```json
{ "keywords": ["air fryer"], "sources": ["google", "amazon"], "expandWithLetters": true }
```

How many suggestions to expect: each query returns up to 10 (Google, YouTube, Bing, DuckDuckGo) or 11 (Amazon). With both expansions on, one seed and source is 53 queries and typically 150 to 350 unique suggestions.

### Errors

| `error` | Meaning | Charged? |
|---|---|---|
| `NO_SUGGESTIONS` | The engine had no suggestions for the seed | no |
| `BLOCKED` | The engine refused every proxy tried | no |
| `FETCH_FAILED` | Network or parsing failure | no |

### Pricing

Pay per event: a small fixed amount per unique suggestion, plus Apify platform usage. Error items are free. Set a maximum total charge on the run to cap spend.

### Notes

- Suggestions are what the engine shows an anonymous user in that language and country at that moment; they change over time and by location.
- Duplicates within a seed and source are removed (case-insensitive); the same phrase can appear under different seeds or sources.
- Amazon marketplaces supported: US, GB, DE, FR, ES, IT, CA, IN, JP, AU, MX, BR. Other countries fall back to the US marketplace.

### Using it from code

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });
const run = await client.actor('serentity/keyword-suggestions-scraper').call({ keywords: ['air fryer'], sources: ['google', 'youtube'], expandWithLetters: true });
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items.map((i) => i.suggestion));
```

### Legal

Autocomplete suggestions are public, aggregated data with no personal information. Use them in line with each engine's terms of service.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

One seed per line. Each seed is sent to every selected source.

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Which autocomplete engines to query.

## `expandWithLetters` (type: `boolean`):

Also query seed + a, seed + b, ... seed + 9 (36 extra queries per seed and source) for a much longer list.

## `expandWithQuestions` (type: `boolean`):

Also query how/what/why/when/where/which/who/can/is/does/best + seed, and seed + vs/for/with/without/near me (16 extra queries).

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code, for example en, de, es.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code, for example US, GB, DE. For Amazon it picks the marketplace (US, GB, DE, FR, ES, IT, CA, IN, JP, AU, MX, BR).

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Seed and source pairs processed in parallel.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy used for the requests. Apify datacenter proxies are used by default.

## `residentialFallback` (type: `boolean`):

If a source blocks the datacenter proxy, retry through Apify residential proxies. Only used on a detected block.
