## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TikTok Video Search Scraper

Search TikTok by keyword and get the videos from its **Videos** tab as clean JSON, for **$0.099 per 1,000 videos** on every plan. That is
less than every other working TikTok search Actor we tested on Apify in October 2026.

Each video comes with its caption, post date, views, likes, comments, shares, saves,
hashtags, sound, and the author's handle, followers and total likes.

### Why use this TikTok search scraper?

- **Low price.** $0.099 per 1,000 videos, charged only for videos returned. Searches
  that fail are free.
- **No login, cookies or proxies.** Type search terms and press Start.
- **Many searches at once.** Add as many search terms as you like; each one pages
  through TikTok's results until it reaches your limit.
- **No repeats.** A video TikTok shows twice for the same search is returned once.
- **Batch or live.** Run it in bulk from the Apify Console, or call it like an API and
  page through results in real time.

### What data can I get from TikTok search?

| Video | Author (on every video) |
| --- | --- |
| Video ID, link and type (video or photo post) | Handle, display name and user ID |
| Caption, its language and hashtags | secUid (TikTok's stable account key) |
| Post date and time | Verified badge |
| Views, likes, comments, shares and saves | Followers and following |
| Length in seconds and cover image | Total likes and video count |
| Sound title, author and whether it is original | Profile photo |
| Whether the video is an ad | The search term that found it |

### How to search TikTok videos

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Add one or more search terms, one per line.
3. Set how many videos you want for each search.
4. Click **Start**, then download the videos as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML.

### Input

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["sourdough bread", "home espresso"],
  "maxVideosPerQuery": 100
}
```

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `searchQueries` | Search terms, one per line |
| `maxVideosPerQuery` | Most videos per search term, up to 10,000. Default 30 |

### Output

One dataset item per video:

```json
{
  "id": "7689243203102461197",
  "url": "https://www.tiktok.com/@kendallferrari/video/7689243203102461197",
  "type": "video",
  "text": "my tried & true sourdough method!! 🍞🤎 …",
  "language": "en",
  "durationSeconds": 103,
  "coverUrl": "https://p16-common-sign.tiktokcdn-us.com/…",
  "hashtags": ["sourdough", "sourdoughtok", "baking", "cozyhobbies", "homebody"],
  "isAd": false,
  "stats": { "plays": 261900, "likes": 16600, "comments": 154, "shares": 1229, "saves": 12100 },
  "author": {
    "id": "6813018293852423174",
    "username": "kendallferrari",
    "nickname": "Kendall Ferrari🧚🏼",
  "input": "sourdough bread"
}
```

TikTok's image and video links expire after a few days, so download any covers or
avatars you need soon after the run.

### How much does it cost?

**$0.099 per 1,000 videos** on every Apify plan, with no start fee and no monthly fee.
You pay only for videos returned. On normal runs, Apify's own platform costs are
included in the price.

### Live HTTP API

This Actor also runs in Standby mode, so you can page through results like any API:

```sh
curl "https://serpdata--tiktok-video-search-scraper.apify.actor/search?query=sourdough+bread" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $APIFY_TOKEN"
```

Each response holds one page of `items` and a `cursor`. Pass the cursor back as
`cursor` for the next page; it is `null` on the last page. You are charged per video
returned.

Errors return JSON with a `message` and are never charged. `400` means a parameter is
invalid, `402` means the run has reached its maximum cost, and `429` means too many
requests at once. Any `5xx` status is safe to retry.

Standby runs cost more than normal runs: Apify also bills you for the Actor's platform
usage, including the 5 minutes it keeps running after your last request.

### Use cases

- **Trend research:** see which videos lead a topic and how much attention they get.
- **Influencer discovery:** find creators who post about your niche, with their follower
  counts on every row.
- **Content planning:** study the captions, hashtags and sounds of top videos.
- **Brand monitoring:** track videos that mention your brand or product.
- **AI and NLP datasets:** feed clean, structured video data into models and pipelines.

### Frequently asked questions

#### Is it legal to scrape TikTok?

These videos and counts are public and can be read without an account. Whether you can
collect and use them depends on where you are and what you do with the data, so check
TikTok's terms of service and get legal advice for your use case.

#### Why do the counts differ from the app?

Counts are what TikTok showed when the video was scraped. They change by the minute on
popular videos.
