## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Reviews Scraper (iOS)

Export Apple App Store reviews to JSON, CSV or Excel — any app, many countries in one run. No login, no API key.

### What you get for each review

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| appTitle, appId | WhatsApp Messenger, 310633997 |
| country | us |
| rating | 2 |
| title, text | "Calls keep dropping" |
| date | 2026-09-29T20:29:40.000Z |
| appVersion | 26.38.74 |
| helpfulVotes, totalVotes | 3, 5 |
| userName, url | public name and a link to the app's reviews |

### Typical uses

- **App review monitoring** — set *Only reviews since* to yesterday and schedule it. Reviews come newest first, so the scraper stops as soon as it reaches older ones and daily runs stay cheap.
- **iOS app reviews export** — download reviews as CSV or Excel for spreadsheets, dashboards or import into another tool. Covers the Apple App Store and the old iTunes review feed.
- **Competitor research** — 1–2 star reviews of competing apps (*Maximum rating* = 2, *Only reviews with text*).
- **Release QA** — group by `appVersion` to see if a release raised complaints.
- **International market research** — run one app across `us, gb, ca, au, de, fr, sa, ae, in` in a single run.
- **AI / sentiment pipelines** — clean JSON, one review per row.

### Input

```json
{
  "apps": ["310633997", "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/slack/id618783545"],
  "countries": ["us", "gb", "sa"],
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 500,
  "since": "2026-09-01",
  "maxRating": 2,
  "onlyWithText": true
}
```

### Limits

Apple's public review feed returns **up to 500 of the most recent reviews per app per country**. To collect more, add more countries, or schedule daily runs with *Only reviews since* to build history over time.

### Pricing

You pay per review saved. Apps that don't exist in a country are skipped and **not charged** — they're listed in the run's `RUN_SUMMARY` record.

### Also available

**Google Play Reviews Scraper** — the same fields for Android apps: [shahab_adl/google-play-reviews-scraper](https://apify.com/shahab_adl/google-play-reviews-scraper).

### Notes

Collects publicly visible review data only. You're responsible for using the data in line with applicable law and Apple's terms.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

App Store IDs (310633997) or App Store URLs (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whatsapp-messenger/id310633997).

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter store codes. Each country has its own reviews — add several (us, gb, ca, au, de, sa, ae…) to collect more. Apple returns up to 500 reviews per app per country.

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

Up to 500 (Apple's limit per country).

## `since` (type: `string`):

Keep reviews on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD). Reviews come newest first, so the scraper stops as soon as it passes this date — cheapest way to run daily monitoring.

## `minRating` (type: `integer`):

Keep only reviews with at least this many stars.

## `maxRating` (type: `integer`):

Set to 2 to collect only 1–2 star complaints.

## `onlyWithText` (type: `boolean`):

Skip reviews with an empty body.
