## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play Reviews Scraper

**Export Google Play app reviews to JSON, CSV or Excel** — any app, any country, any language. Get the **rating, review text, date, app version, thumbs-up count and the developer's reply** for every review. No login, no API key, no proxy setup.

Built for **competitor research, complaint monitoring, release QA and AI/sentiment pipelines**. Pay only for the reviews you get — **$0.10 per 1,000 reviews**.

### How to use it (1 minute)

1. Paste one or more apps into **Apps** — a package name (`com.spotify.music`) or a Google Play link.
2. Pick a **Country** and **Language** (e.g. `us` / `en`, or `sa` / `ar` for Saudi Arabia in Arabic).
3. Optional: set **Maximum rating = 2** and **Only reviews with text** to get just the complaints.
4. Click **Start**, then download the results as CSV, Excel or JSON — or pull them via the API.

### Output example

One row per review:

```json
{
  "appId": "com.spotify.music",
  "appTitle": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts",
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en",
  "reviewId": "617a59a7-6fab-44fc-a399-b9f5e607031a",
  "rating": 2,
  "title": null,
  "text": "It is good but very bad after one month Spotify choose songs itself and if you want to skip the song and want to play other song Spotify says you can skip only six times i hate this 😡",
  "date": "2026-10-03T05:17:37.391Z",
  "thumbsUp": 0,
  "appVersion": "9.1.88.2204",
  "developerReply": null,
  "developerReplyDate": null,
  "url": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music&reviewId=617a59a7-6fab-44fc-a399-b9f5e607031a"
}
```

### What people use it for

- **Competitor reviews** — export your top 3 competitors' 1–2 star reviews and read what users are begging for. Fastest way to find a feature gap.
- **App reviews export** — pull reviews straight into CSV or Excel for spreadsheets, BI dashboards or import into another tool.
- **App review monitoring** — set *Newest first* + *Only reviews since* yesterday and schedule it daily. The scraper stops as soon as it reaches older reviews, so each run costs a fraction of a cent.
- **Release QA** — group by `appVersion` to see whether a release raised complaints.
- **Regional market research** — reviews are per country: compare `us`, `gb`, `in`, `de`, `sa`, `ae`…
- **AI / sentiment analysis** — clean JSON, one review per row, ready for an LLM or a spreadsheet.

### Pricing

You pay **$0.10 per 1,000 reviews** saved, plus $0.00005 per run.

| You collect | Approximate cost |
|---|---|
| 500 reviews of one app | $0.05 |
| 5,000 reviews across 10 apps | $0.50 |
| Daily monitoring of 5 apps (~50 new reviews/day) | ~$0.15 per month |

Apps that don't exist are skipped and **never charged** — they're listed in the run's `RUN_SUMMARY` record. Set a spending limit and the run stops there.

### Input example

```json
{
  "apps": ["com.spotify.music", "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp"],
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 500,
  "sort": "newest",
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en",
  "since": "2026-09-01",
  "maxRating": 2,
  "onlyWithText": true
}
```

### FAQ

**How many reviews can I get?** Up to 100,000 per app per run. For very large apps Google Play limits how far back reviews can be paged, so to build a long history, schedule daily runs with *Only reviews since*.

**Why are results different by country?** Google Play shows a different set of reviews in each country. Run the same app with several countries to cover more users.

**Can I get only negative reviews?** Yes — set *Maximum rating* to 1 or 2 and tick *Only reviews with text*.

**Can I use it from my code or Zapier/Make?** Yes. Every run can be started and read through the Apify API, and Apify integrates with Zapier, Make, Google Sheets and webhooks.

**Is it legal?** It collects only publicly visible reviews. You're responsible for using the data in line with applicable law and Google Play's terms.

**Something broken or a field missing?** Open an issue on this page — I usually reply within a day.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

Google Play package names (com.whatsapp) or app URLs (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp).

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many reviews for each app.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order in which Google Play returns reviews. Use Newest first for monitoring.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter store country code, e.g. us, gb, de, ae, sa, in.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code, e.g. en, ar, de, es.

## `since` (type: `string`):

Keep reviews on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD). With 'Newest first' the scraper stops paging once it passes this date — cheapest way to run daily monitoring.

## `minRating` (type: `integer`):

Keep only reviews with at least this many stars.

## `maxRating` (type: `integer`):

Set to 2 to collect only 1–2 star complaints.

## `onlyWithText` (type: `boolean`):

Skip star-only ratings.
