## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Yandex Maps Places Scraper

Collect places and organizations from [Yandex Maps](https://yandex.com/maps/) by **URL** or **keyword** (+ optional **city**) — with ratings, addresses, schedules, photos, and optional full contacts.

Results are written to the dataset **incrementally** (each search page as a batch; or one-by-one when `enrichDetails` is on), so a cancelled run still keeps what was already scraped.

### Features

- Paste a **search / org URL** and get places
- Or give a **keyword** (and optionally a **city** name like `Frankfurt`, `Almaty`, `Москва`, `Istanbul`)
- Returns name, address, coordinates, rating, reviews, weekly schedule, categories, features, images
- Optional `enrichDetails` opens each org page to refresh contacts and fill missing photos / hours / attributes
- Caps results with `size`

### How to use

Provide either URLs **or** a keyword. URLs win when both are set. `city` is only used with keyword search.

#### Keyword + city (recommended)

When searching by keyword, **always pass `city`** so results stay in the place you care about. Use a normal city name — you do not need Yandex city ids or map coordinates.

Examples: `Frankfurt`, `Berlin`, `Almaty`, `Astana`, `Москва`, `Санкт-Петербург`, `Obninsk`, `Istanbul`, `Tashkent`.

```json
{
  "keyword": "cafe",
  "city": "Frankfurt",
  "size": 50
}
```

#### Keyword only

Works, but the map area follows Yandex’s default location (IP / session / account region). The same keyword can return places in different cities across runs. Prefer adding `city` whenever location matters.

```json
{
  "keyword": "кафе",
  "size": 50
}
```

#### Search URL

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "https://yandex.com/maps/967/obninsk/search/Beauty%20salons/"
  ],
  "size": 50
}
```

#### Single organization

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "https://yandex.com/maps/org/nm_studia/1401916588/"
  ],
  "enrichDetails": true
}
```

### Usage notes

- **Keyword + city is the reliable keyword mode.** Without `city`, results depend on Yandex’s default map location and may not match the city you expect.
- **`city` must be a real place name** that Yandex can resolve (e.g. `Frankfurt`, `Berlin`, `Almaty`, `Astana`, `Москва`, `Санкт-Петербург`, `Obninsk`, `Istanbul`, `Tashkent`). Unknown or nonsense values fail the run instead of silently searching elsewhere.
- **URLs take priority** over `keyword` / `city` when both are provided. Paste search listing URLs or single org URLs (`/maps/org/...`).
- **Domain follows the URL host** (`yandex.com`, `yandex.ru`, …). Keyword mode defaults to `yandex.com`.
- **Some fields are empty on the listing** for certain places (especially outside CIS): rating, photos, attributes, or hours may be missing even when the place exists. Turn on `enrichDetails` to open each org page and fill contacts plus missing photos / hours / attributes when the detail page has them.
- **`enrichDetails` is slower** (one extra org-page request per place).
- **Chain brands can repeat names** (e.g. several “Rigla” pharmacies) with different `externalId` / addresses — that is expected.

### Input

| Field | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `urls` | one of | Search or org URLs (highest priority) |
| `keyword` | one of | Search text when `urls` is empty |
| `city` | recommended with keyword | City name for keyword mode. Examples: `Frankfurt`, `Berlin`, `Almaty`, `Astana`, `Москва`, `Санкт-Петербург`, `Obninsk`, `Istanbul`, `Tashkent`. Strongly recommended so results are not tied to a random default location |
| `size` | no | Max unique places (default `50`) |
| `enrichDetails` | no | Open org pages for fuller contacts / photos / hours / attributes (default `false`) |

### Output

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `externalId` | Yandex organization id |
| `name` | Display name |
| `url` | Org page URL |
| `address` | Short address |
| `fullAddress` | Full address |
| `country` / `city` / `area` / `street` / `house` / `postalCode` | Address parts |
| `point` | Coordinates as `lon,lat` |
| `status` | Business status (`open`, …) |
| `verified` | Has verified owner |
| `rating` / `ratingCount` / `reviewCount` | Rating stats (`null` when none) |
| `schedule` | Weekly hours by day (`Mon`…`Sun`) |
| `workingTimeText` | Human-readable hours |
| `isOpenNow` / `workingStatusText` | Current open status |
| `categories` | Category list |
| `attributes` | Features (cuisine, Wi‑Fi, takeout, …) |
| `photoCount` / `imageUrls` | Photo count and URLs (listing may omit URLs) |
| `contacts` | Phones / website / social (richer when `enrichDetails` is true) |
| `sourceUrl` | Listing URL used for the scrape |
| `raw` | Original listing payload |

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Paste search or organization URLs. Highest priority. Example: https://yandex.com/maps/967/obninsk/search/Beauty%20salons/

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Search text when urls are empty, e.g. cafe, кафе, beauty salon.

## `city` (type: `string`):

Recommended with keyword. Human city name — examples: Frankfurt, Berlin, Almaty, Astana, Москва, Санкт-Петербург, Obninsk, Istanbul, Tashkent. Without city, results follow Yandex’s default map location (IP/session) and may vary.

## `size` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of unique places to return.

## `enrichDetails` (type: `boolean`):

If true, open each org page to get fuller phones/website/social and fill missing photos, hours, and attributes. Slower.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "keyword": "cafe",
  "city": "Frankfurt",
  "size": 50,
  "enrichDetails": false
}
```
