### 2026-10-14

#### 🛠️ Fixes and a new deprivation field

- **New `imdRank` column.** Every resolved postcode now carries its Index of Multiple Deprivation rank: where its small area sits in its own nation, 1 being the most deprived. The old `imdecile` column was always empty because the data has no decile; it stays in the dataset for existing integrations but is deprecated.
- **Wide search moved to reverse geocoding, where it works.** Reverse geocoding now looks within 2 km of your point by default, and up to 20 km with `wideSearch` on. Rural and coastal points that used to come back empty now resolve.
- **Postcode search is described honestly.** It matches the start of a postcode (SW1A, SW1A 1), not street or town names. A search that matches nothing now says so and suggests what to type.
- **Constituencies use the 2024 boundaries** whenever the record has them.
- **Outcode rows** now list every country, ward and constituency the outcode covers, not just the district.
- **Batch runs drop duplicates** (including the same postcode typed two ways, such as sw1a1aa and SW1A 1AA) before anything is charged.
- **Free-plan cap is enforced before delivery.** Rows past the 25-row free cap are no longer delivered uncharged.
- **A run that fails now shows as failed** and still writes its processing report, with the reason and a fix.
- **New run report**: resolved postcodes you can copy in one click, a table per run, a charges statement and a ready-to-paste retry input for anything that did not resolve.
- **Data attribution** for Ordnance Survey, Royal Mail, National Statistics and NRS data is now in the README and every run report.

#### 💎 User Benefits

- Join deprivation rank, LSOA and MSOA onto your own postcode lists without downloading the national files
- Get an answer for countryside coordinates instead of an empty row
- Pay only for postcodes that resolve; typos, terminated postcodes and empty searches cost nothing

#### 🎯 Use Cases

- Public-sector and charity analysts ranking service users by deprivation
- Field-service and delivery apps turning rural GPS points into postcodes
- Data teams cleaning CRM exports where the same postcode was typed several ways
