## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

## TikTok Video Metadata Scraper – Fast URL Batch

Extract clean metadata from known public TikTok video URLs without login, cookies, or a browser. Get one normalized dataset row per successful video URL, with predictable pay-per-result billing.

### Start in under a minute

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Paste one or more public TikTok video URLs.
3. Click **Start** and export the dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel, or through the API.

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "https://www.tiktok.com/@scout2015/video/6718335390845095173"
  ],
  "concurrency": 4
}
```

Up to 1,000 URLs can be processed in one run. Short `vm.tiktok.com` and `vt.tiktok.com` links are accepted when TikTok resolves them through its public oEmbed service.

### Example result

```json
{
  "videoId": "6718335390845095173",
  "title": "Scramble up ur name & I’ll try to guess it",
  "authorName": "Scout, Suki & Stella",
  "authorUrl": "https://www.tiktok.com/@scout2015",
  "url": "https://www.tiktok.com/@scout2015/video/6718335390845095173",
  "thumbnailUrl": "https://p19-common-sign.tiktokcdn-us.com/...",
  "thumbnailWidth": 720,
  "thumbnailHeight": 1280,
  "provider": "TikTok",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-08-09T10:37:12.381Z"
}
```

### Why use this Actor

- Direct-URL workflow with very little setup.
- No TikTok login, cookies, or API key.
- Stable fields for spreadsheets, n8n, Make, Zapier, and LLM pipelines.
- Duplicate URLs are removed automatically.
- One bad or unavailable URL does not discard successful rows.
- Failed URLs are summarized in `OUTPUT` and do not create paid result rows.

### Best for

- Enriching saved TikTok links with titles, creators, thumbnails, and IDs.
- Building attribution or thumbnail catalogs.
- Normalizing user-submitted TikTok links.
- Adding TikTok metadata to content-review and research workflows.

### Scope and pricing

This focused Actor processes known video URLs. It does not crawl profiles, hashtags, search results, engagement statistics, private videos, deleted videos, or region-restricted content.

Current launch pricing starts at **$1 per 1,000 successful video results**; the Pricing tab is the source of truth for all events and exact run cost. Collect only public data and follow applicable platform terms, copyright, privacy, and data-protection requirements.

    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});

// Prepare Actor input
const input = {};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("signal_lab/tiktok-video-metadata").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
