## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Career Site Jobs API — Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Recruitee

Get **every open job from company career sites** in one clean, normalized format — no matter which applicant tracking system (ATS) the company uses. Paste career page URLs (or just company names) and get title, location, remote flag, salary range, posting date, apply link and full description.

- ⚡ **Fast & reliable** — uses the official public job-board feeds of each ATS. No browser, no proxies, no CAPTCHAs, no login.
- 🔎 **Auto-detects the ATS** — give it `stripe` and it finds the right job board.
- 🧩 **One schema for 6 ATS platforms** — merge Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters and Recruitee jobs into one dataset.
- 💰 **Salary data** where the company publishes it (Lever, Ashby, Recruitee).
- 🤖 **AI-agent ready** — works as a tool via the Apify MCP server, so Claude / ChatGPT agents can pull live openings.

### Use cases

- **Job aggregators & niche job boards** — keep your listings fresh from hundreds of company career pages.
- **Recruiters & sales teams** — find companies that are hiring for specific roles (a strong buying signal).
- **Job seekers & AI job agents** — monitor target companies daily for new remote roles.
- **Market research** — track hiring trends, salaries and locations by company or role.

### Input example

```json
{
  "companies": [
    "https://boards.greenhouse.io/stripe",
    "https://jobs.lever.co/palantir",
    "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp",
    "workable:huggingface",
    "notion"
  ],
  "keywords": ["engineer", "developer"],
  "excludeKeywords": ["intern"],
  "remoteOnly": true,
  "postedWithinDays": 14
}
```

Accepted formats in **companies**:

| Format | Example |
|---|---|
| Career page URL | `https://boards.greenhouse.io/stripe`, `https://jobs.lever.co/palantir`, `https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp`, `https://apply.workable.com/huggingface`, `https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup`, `https://bunq.recruitee.com` |
| `ats:slug` | `greenhouse:stripe`, `lever:palantir`, `ashby:ramp`, `workable:huggingface`, `smartrecruiters:BoschGroup`, `recruitee:bunq` |
| Company slug (auto-detect) | `stripe` |

### Output fields

`source`, `companySlug`, `companyName`, `jobId`, `title`, `department`, `team`, `location`, `locations`, `country`, `isRemote`, `workplaceType`, `employmentType`, `postedAt`, `updatedAt`, `jobUrl`, `applyUrl`, `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryInterval`, `salaryText`, `descriptionText`, `descriptionHtml`, `scrapedAt`.

A per-company summary (ATS detected, jobs found, jobs saved) is stored in the run's key-value store under `SUMMARY`.

### Pricing

Pay only for results: you are charged per job saved to the dataset. Filters (keywords, location, remote, date) are applied **before** charging, so you never pay for jobs you filtered out. Set a maximum cost per run in the run options to cap spending.

### Tips

- Schedule the Actor daily with `postedWithinDays: 1` to get only new openings.
- Use `maxJobsTotal` for quick previews.
- If a company is not found by slug, paste its career page URL instead.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** The Actor only reads the public job-board feeds that ATS vendors publish so that companies can display their openings on their own websites. It does not log in or collect personal data.

**My company's ATS is not supported.** Open an issue with the career page URL — Workday, Personio and Teamtailor are next on the roadmap.
