## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Singapore Company & UEN Search

> **Unofficial:** This Actor is independently published by Singapore Data. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Singapore Government or any source agency.

Search and export official Singapore corporate entity records published by ACRA. Use it for business verification, supplier onboarding, market research, compliance workflows, and company-data enrichment.

### What it does

- Searches by entity-name text or exact UEN.
- Routes name searches to the correct official alphabet dataset and scans all official shards for a UEN.
- Returns registration status, type, dates, address, SSIC activities, former names, audit firms, and officer count when published.
- Applies `maxItems` exactly and stores run status separately from entity rows.

### Input

| Field | Purpose | Default |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `queryType` | Search by entity name or UEN | `entityName` |
| `query` | Required entity-name text or exact UEN | `GOOGLE ASIA PACIFIC` |
| `entityStatus` | Optional exact ACRA status | Empty |
| `maxItems` | Exact maximum number of unique entities | `10` |
| `pageSize` | Official rows requested per call | `5` |
| `failOnNoResults` | Fail instead of returning a valid empty search | `false` |
| `dataGovApiKey` | Optional secret key for higher official API limits | Empty |

```json
{"queryType":"entityName","query":"GOOGLE ASIA PACIFIC","maxItems":10}
```

### Output

Each dataset row is one official corporate entity. Missing or `na` source values are omitted rather than invented. Former names and audit firms are arrays and may be empty.

```json
{"status":"success","country":"SG","uen":"200817984R","entityName":"GOOGLE ASIA PACIFIC PTE. LTD.","entityType":"Local Company","entityStatus":"Live Company","formerNames":[],"auditFirms":[],"scrapedAt":"2026-08-02T12:00:00Z"}
```

### Source and responsible use

The Actor uses ACRA corporate entity datasets published on data.gov.sg under the Singapore Open Data Licence. Singapore Data is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ACRA or the Singapore Government. A registry match is not legal, financial, sanctions, or beneficial-ownership advice. Verify material decisions with the official registry and current records.

The Actor uses direct HTTP requests, no browser, and no proxy. Empty valid searches return `no_results`; access restrictions and source-contract failures are reported separately. It never fabricates fallback entities.
