## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## China Brand Monitor: Weibo, Bilibili, Complaints & Trends

**Chinese social listening in one run.** Give it your brand (and your competitors) and get every recent mention from China's main public channels in one dataset, plus a summary per brand. No login, no cookies, no browser.

- **Weibo**: recent and popular posts mentioning the brand, with likes, comments, reposts and the region they were posted from
- **Bilibili**: the newest videos about the brand, with views, likes and comments
- **Black Cat (黑猫投诉)**: consumer complaints that name the brand, with issue, demand, amount and status
- **Trending lists**: whether the brand is on the Weibo, Douyin, Baidu, Toutiao, Zhihu or Bilibili hot lists right now
- **Summary per brand**: mentions by platform, **share of voice** against the other brands in the run, total engagement, top regions, complaints by status and current trending topics
- **Only new mentions** mode for hourly or daily monitoring

### Use cases

- **Brand monitoring in China**: one feed of what Chinese consumers say about your brand.
- **Competitor benchmarking**: put your competitors in the same run and compare share of voice and complaints.
- **PR early warning**: a complaint spike or a trending topic about your brand shows up the same hour.
- **Market entry research**: how a brand is discussed before you launch or partner.

### Example input

```json
{
  "brands": ["比亚迪|BYD", "小米汽车|小米SU7"],
  "platforms": ["weibo", "bilibili", "blackcat", "trending"],
  "maxMentionsPerPlatform": 50,
  "lookbackDays": 7
}
```

Write each brand on one line, with other names after a `|`. **Use the Chinese name**: Chinese users write 比亚迪 far more often than BYD.

For monitoring, schedule the run every hour or day with **Only new mentions** on.

### Output

A mention:

```json
{
  "type": "mention",
  "brand": "比亚迪",
  "matchedTerm": "比亚迪",
  "platform": "weibo",
  "kind": "post",
  "text": "…",
  "url": "https://weibo.com/…",
  "author": "…",
  "createdAt": "2026-11-01T06:12:00.000Z",
  "region": "广东",
  "likes": 120,
  "comments": 34,
  "shares": 5
}
```

Complaints add `complaintCompany`, `complaintIssue`, `complaintDemand`, `complaintAmountCny` and `complaintStatus`; trending mentions add `trendRank` and `trendHeat`.

A summary (one per brand, free):

```json
{
  "type": "summary",
  "brand": "小米汽车",
  "mentions": 32,
  "shareOfVoicePct": 50,
  "byPlatform": { "weibo": 15, "bilibili": 15, "toutiao": 1, "zhihu": 1 },
  "complaints": 0,
  "trendingNow": [{ "platform": "zhihu", "title": "如何评价 2026 年 10 月小米汽车交付量超过 50000 台？", "rank": 4 }],
  "engagement": { "likes": 2392, "comments": 578, "shares": 26, "views": 13692 },
  "topRegions": [{ "region": "广东", "mentions": 4 }, { "region": "四川", "mentions": 2 }]
}
```

### Pricing

**$0.03 per mention.** Summaries are free. 20 mentions per platform for one brand on three platforms cost about $1.80; with **Only new mentions** a scheduled run pays only for new ones. Use **Max mentions per brand and platform** and **Look back (days)** to control the cost.

### Notes and limits

- **Weibo** shows logged-out visitors the first page of each search tab, about 50-100 recent and popular posts per name; run on a schedule to keep up with busy brands.
- **Black Cat** shows the latest ~500 complaints across all companies; the brand is matched in the company name, title and summary.
- Mentions are matched by name, so ambiguous names (e.g. a brand that is also a common word) need more specific terms.
- Only public data is collected. Complainants' names are not collected.

# Actor input Schema

## `brands` (type: `array`):

One brand per line. Add other names after a | (e.g. 比亚迪|BYD). Add competitors as more lines to get share of voice. Chinese names find far more mentions than English ones.

## `platforms` (type: `array`):

Where to look for mentions.

## `maxMentionsPerPlatform` (type: `integer`):

Weibo gives about 50-100 recent posts per name without login; Bilibili and Black Cat can give more.

## `lookbackDays` (type: `integer`):

Only mentions from the last N days. 0 = no limit.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

For scheduled runs: skip (and don't pay for) mentions saved in a previous run.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed for normal use.
