## Pricing

from $0.90 / 1,000 car models

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## China Car Sales Rankings: Monthly EV & Car Sales by Model

Get **monthly car sales for every model sold in China**, the world's largest car and EV market, in one clean dataset. Data comes from the public sales rankings of **Dongchedi (懂车帝)**, one of China's biggest car platforms. No login, no browser.

- **Whole market**: about 600-700 models every month, ranked by units sold
- **Several months at once**: the latest month, specific months, or rolling 6- and 12-month totals
- **EV filters**: battery EV (纯电), plug-in hybrid (插电混动) or range-extender (增程)
- **Body types**: cars, SUVs and MPVs by size
- **Price bands** in 万 (10,000 CNY)

### Use cases

- **Automotive and EV market research**: market share of BYD, Tesla, Geely, Xiaomi, Li Auto, NIO, XPeng and hundreds more.
- **Investors and analysts**: track monthly sales of listed carmakers' models before official reports.
- **Competitor tracking** for carmakers and suppliers: who's winning each segment and price band.
- **Dashboards**: schedule a monthly run and send the results to Google Sheets or your BI tool.

### Example input

```json
{
  "periods": ["latest", "2026-07", "last12months"],
  "energyType": "bev",
  "segments": ["suv_compact", "suv_midsize"],
  "maxModelsPerPeriod": 50
}
```

### Output

One record per car model per period:

```json
{
  "type": "carModel",
  "period": "202608",
  "periodLabel": "2026年08月",
  "rank": 1,
  "previousRank": 1,
  "model": "星愿",
  "brand": "吉利银河",
  "sales": 39651,
  "priceMinWan": 6.18,
  "priceMaxWan": 9.18,
  "priceText": "6.18-9.18万",
  "reviewCount": 918,
  "seriesId": "20154",
  "url": "https://www.dongchedi.com/auto/series/20154"
}
```

Model and brand names are kept in Chinese as published (for example `星愿`, `Model Y`, `小米SU7`). Prices are in 万 (10,000 CNY), so 6.18 means ¥61,800.

### Pricing

**$0.001 per car model record.** A full month for the whole market (about 650 models) costs about $0.65; the top 100 cost $0.10.

### Notes and limits

- These are Dongchedi's published retail sales rankings. They may differ slightly from manufacturer or CPCA figures.
- Dongchedi lists roughly the last six months; some older months are also available. If a month isn't available, the run skips it and says so in the log instead of returning wrong data.
- Only public data is collected.

# Actor input Schema

## `periods` (type: `array`):

Which rankings to fetch: "latest" (most recent month), a month like 2026-08, "last6months" or "last12months" (rolling totals). Recent months (roughly the last 6, plus some older ones) are available.

## `energyType` (type: `string`):

All cars, or only battery EVs, plug-in hybrids or range-extender EVs.

## `segments` (type: `array`):

Only these body types (leave empty for all).

## `priceMinWan` (type: `integer`):

Only models whose price range reaches this, in 万 (10,000 CNY). 15 = ¥150,000.

## `priceMaxWan` (type: `integer`):

Only models starting below this, in 万 (10,000 CNY).

## `maxModelsPerPeriod` (type: `integer`):

How many models to save from each ranking. The full market is about 600-700 models a month.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed for normal use.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "periods": [
    "latest"
  ],
  "energyType": "all",
  "maxModelsPerPeriod": 100,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
