## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Accessibility Statement Generator do?

Enter a website URL and get, in about two minutes:

- a **PDF accessibility audit report** you can send to a client, a manager or a legal team (summary, average score, most frequent issues with WCAG criteria and how to fix them, results page by page);
- a **ready-to-edit accessibility statement** (HTML and Markdown) following the structure expected under the **European Accessibility Act (EAA, Directive 2019/882)** and EN 301 549: compliance status, non-accessible content, feedback contact, enforcement procedure.

Available in **English and French** (the French statement follows the usual "déclaration d'accessibilité" outline).

### Why use it?

Since 28 June 2025 the European Accessibility Act applies to many websites and online services sold in the EU (e-commerce, banking, transport, e-books, telecoms...). Publishing an accessibility statement and fixing the main barriers is part of the job. This Actor gives you a first report and a statement draft in one run, instead of an afternoon of copy-paste.

Typical users: web agencies and freelancers preparing an offer, in-house web teams, compliance officers, SaaS founders selling in the EU.

### How to use it

1. Enter the **website URL** (home page).
2. Optionally add the **organization name** and the **accessibility contact** (e-mail or form URL) that will appear in the statement.
3. Choose the **language** and the **standard** (WCAG 2.1 AA by default, the level referenced by EN 301 549).
4. Click **Start**. Open the **Output** tab: download the PDF, open the statement.

### Input example

```json
{
  "websiteUrl": "https://example.com",
  "organizationName": "Example Ltd",
  "contact": "accessibility@example.com",
  "language": "en",
  "standard": "wcag21aa",
  "maxPages": 10
}
```

### Output example

One dataset item per run, plus three files in the key-value store:

```json
{
  "site": "example.com",
  "standard": "WCAG 2.1 AA (EN 301 549 / European Accessibility Act)",
  "pagesAudited": 10,
  "averageScore": 78,
  "pagesPassing": 2,
  "issuesTotal": 31,
  "issuesCritical": 6,
  "issuesSerious": 14,
  "failedCriteria": ["1.1.1", "1.4.3", "2.4.4", "4.1.2"],
  "topIssues": [
    { "ruleId": "color-contrast", "impact": "serious", "issue": "Elements must meet minimum color contrast ratio thresholds", "wcagCriteria": ["1.4.3"], "pages": 9, "elements": 27 }
  ],
  "reportPdfUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/.../records/accessibility-report.pdf",
  "statementHtmlUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/.../records/accessibility-statement.html",
  "statementMarkdownUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/.../records/accessibility-statement.md"
}
```

### How much does it cost?

- **Report and statement:** a fixed fee per generated report (see the Pricing tab).
- **Page audits:** the pages are audited by our [Website Accessibility Audit](https://apify.com/siteauditlab/website-accessibility-audit) Actor, billed per page on your account (10 pages cost a few cents).

### Honest limits

The audit uses automated checks (axe-core, the engine behind many accessibility tools). Automated tools find roughly a third of accessibility barriers: keyboard use, screen reader behaviour, captions and content clarity still need a manual review. The statement is a **draft with clearly marked fields to complete**; it is not a certificate of conformity and not legal advice.

### Templates and free tools

### Use with AI agents

The input is a single URL plus optional text fields, so this Actor works well through the Apify MCP server: ask your agent to "generate an accessibility statement for example.com".
