## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Website Lead Qualifier – Find Outdated Business Websites for Agencies

Turn a list of business websites into a **ranked list of web design leads**. For each website the Actor checks what a prospect would notice in seconds — no HTTPS, a security warning, a site that is not mobile-friendly, hidden from Google, running outdated WordPress or PHP, an old © year in the footer — and returns:

- a **0–100 opportunity score** and a **hot / warm / cold** level,
- the **top issues** in plain language (English or French),
- a **pitch line** you can paste into your first email or call script.

Built for **web agencies, freelancers, SEO consultants and lead-gen teams** who prospect local businesses.

### Works with Google Maps Scraper

Run any Google Maps or directory scraper first, then put its dataset ID in **Read websites from a dataset**. The business name, category, phone, address, Google rating and number of reviews are copied next to the website score, so you get a call list ready to sort.

Businesses with a great Google rating but a broken or outdated website are usually the easiest to convince.

### What is checked

| Check | Why it matters to the business owner |
| --- | --- |
| Website does not load / server error / parked domain | They are losing every visitor |
| No HTTPS, invalid or expiring SSL certificate, no http→https redirect | Browsers show "Not secure" |
| No responsive viewport | Broken on phones, where most local searches happen |
| `noindex` on the homepage | Invisible on Google |
| Outdated software (WordPress < 6.4, PHP < 8.1, jQuery < 3.5, Universal Analytics, Drupal 7, Joomla 3, AngularJS, Flash…) | Security risk and a dated look |
| © year 3+ years old, legacy table layout | The site looks abandoned |
| Basic site builder (Jimdo, Weebly, GoDaddy, Site123, e-monsite…) | Limited SEO and design |
| Slow response, heavy HTML | Visitors leave |
| Missing title, meta description, H1, structured data, Open Graph, favicon, image alt text | Weak SEO and poor sharing on social media |
| No clickable phone, email or contact form | Visitors cannot get in touch |
| No analytics, or ad pixels without a cookie consent tool | No measurement, GDPR risk in the EU |

Every issue has a weight. The score is the sum, capped at 100: **50+ = hot**, **25–49 = warm**, below 25 = cold.

### Input example

```json
{
  "urls": ["garage-example.fr", "https://bakery-example.com"],
  "language": "en",
  "minOpportunityScore": 25
}
```

Or chained after Google Maps Scraper:

```json
{
  "datasetId": "YOUR_DATASET_ID",
  "urlField": "website",
  "language": "fr"
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "businessName": "Garage Example",
  "category": "Auto repair shop",
  "phone": "+33 3 20 00 00 00",
  "googleRating": 4.8,
  "googleReviews": 112,
  "website": "https://garage-example.fr/",
  "opportunityScore": 78,
  "leadLevel": "hot",
  "topIssues": [
    "No HTTPS: browsers show the site as \"Not secure\".",
    "Not mobile-friendly: no responsive viewport.",
    "Runs outdated software: WordPress 5.2.4, PHP 7.4.33",
    "The footer copyright is several years old, so the site looks abandoned. (© 2019)"
  ],
  "pitchLine": "While visiting your website I noticed: No HTTPS: browsers show the site as \"Not secure\"; Not mobile-friendly: no responsive viewport; Runs outdated software.",
  "https": false,
  "sslValid": false,
  "mobileFriendly": false,
  "copyrightYear": 2019,
  "cms": "WordPress 5.2.4",
  "outdatedSoftware": ["WordPress 5.2.4", "PHP 7.4.33"],
  "hasPhoneLink": true,
  "hasContactForm": false,
  "socialProfiles": { "facebook": "https://www.facebook.com/garageexample" },
  "issues": [ { "code": "noHttps", "weight": 25, "message": "...", "messageFr": "..." } ]
}
```

A `SUMMARY` record in the key-value store gives the number of hot, warm and cold leads.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$6 per 1,000 websites qualified**. A website that does not load is a valid (and often very hot) lead, so it is counted too. Websites filtered out by **Minimum opportunity score** are still counted because they were checked.

### Good to know

- Only the homepage is fetched (one HTTP request plus an SSL handshake), so a run of 1,000 websites takes a few minutes.
- The Actor reads public pages only. It does not collect personal email addresses. Business details come only from the dataset you provide.
- Always check a lead before contacting it, and follow the anti-spam and data-protection rules of your country (GDPR in the EU).

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Websites of the businesses you want to qualify, one per line.

Name of the field holding the website URL.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Language used for topIssues and pitchLine.

## `minOpportunityScore` (type: `integer`):
