## Changelog

### Unreleased (NEXT5 prep, 17 Oct 2026)

- Input validation: wrong field types stop the run at once with a clear "Input problem" message instead of a crash; very long values and very large lists are capped before processing.
- A warning when includeHash is used without a long secret salt (a plain hash of a phone number is not anonymisation).
- Pre-filled example numbers are now all reserved fiction/test numbers.
- README: run time, aborts, partial results and retention; example numbers use the reserved Ofcom drama range.

### 1.0.0 — 2026-10-11

- First release.
- Offline validation and formatting with libphonenumber-js 1.13.14 ("max" metadata):
  - valid and possible flags, with readable reasons
  - E.164, international, national, RFC 3966 and tel: URI formats
  - number type and country, plus non-geographic codes and extensions
- Inputs: a number list, pasted lines, free-text extraction, `{phone, country, label}` records and an Apify dataset.
- Duplicates are linked across formats and are not charged.
- Drama/test ranges reserved by Ofcom, NANPA and ACMA are flagged.
- Privacy options: masking, and a salted SHA-256 whose salt is a secret input that is never output.
- `NUMBERS.csv` export with protection against formula injection, plus an `OUTPUT` summary.
- Pay-per-event: `number-validated`. Respects the maximum total charge.
