## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SiteVerdict — SEC Financial Statements (XBRL) & Ratios

**Clean, normalised income statements, balance sheets and cash flows for any SEC filer, by ticker or CIK, straight from the SEC's own XBRL APIs. Annual and quarterly, ratios and growth, peer comparison, market percentiles and CSV, in one row per company.**

No API key, no scraping of HTML filings: the Actor reads `data.sec.gov` (companyfacts, submissions, frames) with a compliant user agent and SEC fair-access pacing.

### What you get per company

- 📒 **Income statement**: revenue, cost of revenue, gross profit, R\&D, SG\&A, operating income, interest expense, pre-tax income, tax, net income, EPS basic/diluted, diluted shares.
- 🏦 **Balance sheet**: cash, receivables, inventory, current assets, total assets, current liabilities, short/long-term debt, total liabilities, equity, total debt, net debt.
- 💵 **Cash flow**: operating, investing, financing, capex, D\&A, dividends, buybacks, **free cash flow**.
- 📐 **Ratios**: gross / operating / net / FCF margin, effective tax rate, ROE (average equity), ROA, current ratio, debt-to-equity, interest coverage, payout ratio, revenue / net income / EPS growth YoY.
- 🧾 **Provenance**: for every metric, the exact XBRL concept used (e.g. `us-gaap:RevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax`), the calendar frame and any derived values (e.g. Q4 = FY − Q1..Q3).
- 🗓️ **Annual** (10-K, 20-F, 40-F) and **quarterly** (10-Q; Q4 derived), restated or as first reported.
- 🆚 **Peer comparison** row (ranks + peer medians) and optional **market percentiles** against every SEC filer (frames API).
- 📄 `financials.csv` (one row per company × period) and an optional **AI analyst brief** using your own Anthropic/OpenAI key.

### Who it is for

- **Analysts, students and investors** who want comparable fundamentals without a terminal subscription.
- **Fintech and data teams** building screeners, dashboards or LLM agents on clean JSON.
- **Credit and procurement teams** checking a counterparty's leverage and cash generation.
- **AI agents** via the MCP tool `sec_financials`.

### Quick start

1. Companies: `AAPL`, `MSFT`, `BRK-B`, or CIKs like `320193`.
2. Choose annual / quarterly / both and how many years or quarters.
3. Run. Try **Sample mode** (Apple + Microsoft, trimmed SEC data recorded 11 Oct 2026; no network, free).

#### Example output (sample mode: real SEC data recorded 11 Oct 2026, abridged)

```
### Pricing (pay per event)
| Event | Price | When |
|---|---|---|
| `company-financials` | $0.02 | one company with all requested periods, ratios and provenance |
| `peer-comparison` | $0.02 | one comparison row for 2+ companies |
| `ai-brief` | $0.05 | only when your own AI key returns a brief |
Examples: S\&P 500 annual 5-year pull = 500 × $0.02 = **$10**. 5 peers + comparison = $0.12. Not-found tickers, errors and sample mode are free.
### FAQ
**Why do some metrics show `null`?** Filers choose different XBRL tags; we try several standard concepts per metric (listed in `sources`). If none is tagged, the value is null rather than guessed.
**Restated vs as-reported?** `useRestated: true` (default) takes the latest filed value for each period (later 10-Ks often restate prior years). Off = the value first reported.
**Quarterly cash flow?** 10-Qs report cash flow year-to-date, so 3-month cash flows are only available where filers tag them; Q4 flows are derived from the annual figures.
**Foreign companies?** 20-F and 40-F filers using IFRS (`ifrs-full`) are supported; the reporting currency is detected automatically.
### Limits
- 100 companies per run, up to 20 years / 40 quarters.
- Banks and insurers use different line items; generic metrics like gross profit may be null for them.
- Data quality depends on filer tagging; verify material numbers against the filing (EDGAR link in every row).
### Sources & compliance
- **Source**: SEC EDGAR APIs — `https://data.sec.gov/api/xbrl/companyfacts/`, `/submissions/`, `/api/xbrl/frames/`, and `https://www.sec.gov/files/company_tickers.json`. Documentation: https://www.sec.gov/search-filings/edgar-application-programming-interfaces. Checked 11 Oct 2026.
- **Terms**: SEC data is public information; the SEC's fair-access policy (https://www.sec.gov/os/accessing-edgar-data) requires a declared user agent with contact and ≤ 10 requests/second. We send `SiteVerdict/sec-xbrl-financials (hello@webrevenuescan.com)` and pace requests at ≤ 5/second.
- No personal data. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the SEC. **Not investment advice.**
