## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TikTok User Videos

Give this Actor one or more public TikTok usernames and it returns each user's most recent public videos as flat JSON rows: video ID, URL, caption/title, view, like, comment and share counts, duration and posting timestamp. It uses [yt-dlp](https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp) over Apify residential proxies. No browser, no login, no AI.

### Input

```json
{
  "usernames": ["tiktok"],
  "maxVideos": 10
}
```

- `usernames` (required): public usernames, with or without `@`. Up to 20 per run.
- `maxVideos`: most recent videos per username, 1–100 (default 10).
- `maxWorkers`: usernames fetched in parallel, 1–10 (default 3).

### Output

One dataset row per video:

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `username`, `rank` | Input username and position in the recent-videos list (1 = newest) |
| `videoId`, `url` | TikTok video ID and a canonical watch URL |
| `title` | Caption text (up to 300 characters) |
| `uploader`, `uploaderId` | Account handle and numeric ID |
| `viewCount`, `likeCount`, `commentCount`, `shareCount` | Counts as TikTok reports them at fetch time |
| `durationSec` | Video length in seconds |
| `timestamp` | Posting time (Unix seconds). `uploadDate` is often `null` in listings; use `timestamp`, or TikTok Video Details for a full record |
| `scrapedAt` | When the row was saved (UTC) |

The key-value store record `SUMMARY` lists every username's outcome (`ok`, `videos`, `error`) and the run `status` (`success`, `partial_success`, `failed`, `spending_limit_reached`).

### Limits — read before relying on it

- Public profiles only. Private, banned or nonexistent accounts return an error in `SUMMARY.outcomes` and are not charged.
- TikTok sometimes refuses to resolve a profile from a given IP ("Unable to extract secondary user ID"). The Actor retries on fresh proxy sessions, but some profiles can still fail on a given run. Re-run failed usernames later.
- Results depend on yt-dlp's TikTok support. If TikTok changes its site, extraction can break until the Actor is rebuilt with a newer yt-dlp.
- If every username fails, the run ends as FAILED, with reasons in `SUMMARY`. If some usernames succeed, the run SUCCEEDS with `partial_success`.
- Only metadata. No video files, comments or follower lists.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$7.88 per 1,000 videos saved** (`video-listed`, $0.00788 each), plus Apify's standard small Actor-start event. You are charged only for video rows actually written to the dataset. Failed usernames cost nothing. The Actor respects your run's maximum charge and stops saving rows when it is reached.

### Responsible use

Collect only public data, and follow TikTok's terms and the privacy laws that apply to you. Personal data such as handles can be regulated in your jurisdiction.

# Actor input Schema

## `usernames` (type: `array`):

Public TikTok usernames, with or without @ (max 20 per run).

## `maxVideos` (type: `integer`):

How many of the most recent public videos to list per username (1-100). Each saved video is one billable event.

## `maxWorkers` (type: `integer`):

How many inputs to fetch in parallel (1-10).

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "usernames": [
    "tiktok"
  ],
  "maxVideos": 10,
  "maxWorkers": 3
}
```

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "usernames": [
        "tiktok"
    ],
    "maxVideos": 10
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("skilled_glee/tiktok-user-videos").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
