## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TikTok Video Details

Give this Actor public TikTok video URLs or numeric video IDs and it returns one JSON record per video: caption, full description, view, like, comment and share counts, duration, upload date, tags and thumbnail URL. It uses [yt-dlp](https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp) over Apify residential proxies. No browser, no login, no AI.

### Input

```json
{
  "videos": [
    "https://www.tiktok.com/@tiktok/video/7692114317151423775",
    "7691450773619625247"
  ]
}
```

- `videos` (required): full video URLs (`https://www.tiktok.com/@user/video/<id>`) or bare numeric IDs. Up to 100 per run. Short links (`vm.tiktok.com`, `/t/`) are accepted on a best-effort basis.
- `maxWorkers`: videos fetched in parallel, 1–10 (default 3).

### Output

One dataset row per successfully fetched video:

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `input` | The URL or ID you supplied |
| `videoId`, `url` | TikTok video ID and a canonical watch URL |
| `title`, `description` | Caption (up to 300 characters) and full description (up to 2,000 characters) |
| `uploader`, `uploaderId` | Account handle and numeric ID |
| `viewCount`, `likeCount`, `commentCount`, `shareCount` | Counts as TikTok reports them at fetch time |
| `durationSec`, `uploadDate`, `timestamp` | Length in seconds, upload date (YYYYMMDD) and Unix posting time |
| `tags`, `thumbnail` | Hashtags if exposed, and a signed thumbnail URL. Thumbnail links expire after a while |
| `scrapedAt` | When the row was saved (UTC) |

The key-value store record `SUMMARY` lists every input's outcome (`ok`, `error`) and the run `status` (`success`, `partial_success`, `failed`, `spending_limit_reached`).

### Limits — read before relying on it

- Public videos only. Deleted, private or region-blocked videos return an error in `SUMMARY.outcomes` and are not charged. Inputs that are not TikTok video URLs are rejected per item.
- The Actor retries on fresh proxy sessions, but TikTok can still refuse some requests. Re-run failed inputs later.
- Results depend on yt-dlp's TikTok support. If TikTok changes its site, extraction can break until the Actor is rebuilt with a newer yt-dlp.
- If every video fails, the run ends as FAILED, with reasons in `SUMMARY`. If some videos succeed, the run SUCCEEDS with `partial_success`.
- Only metadata. No video download and no comments.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$9.88 per 1,000 videos** (`video-processed`, $0.00988 each), plus Apify's standard small Actor-start event. You are charged only for records actually written to the dataset. Failed inputs cost nothing. The Actor respects your run's maximum charge.

### Responsible use

Collect only public data, and follow TikTok's terms and the privacy laws that apply to you.

# Actor input Schema

        "https://www.tiktok.com/@tiktok/video/7692114317151423775"
    ]
};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("skilled_glee/tiktok-video-details").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
