## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Remote OK Jobs Scraper

### What does Remote OK Jobs Scraper do?

Remote OK is one of the best-known remote job boards. This Actor collects its listings as structured data, so you can filter by tags, track salaries, or republish jobs in your own product.

### What data do you get?

Each job includes: title, company, location, tags, salaryMinUsd, salaryMaxUsd, publishedAt, url.

### Use cases

- Filter remote jobs by tech stack or role tags
- Track remote salary ranges in USD
- Build remote job alerts, boards, or datasets

Export results as JSON, CSV, Excel, or pull them via the Apify API.

### ✨ Features

- 🏷️ **Search by tags** such as `python`, `react`, `devops`, `design`, `marketing`, `customer-support` or `sales`. The latest feed is always included and each tag adds its own feed.
- 🔎 **Keyword include / exclude**, **location contains** (`Worldwide`, `Europe`, `USA`…), **minimum salary**, **only jobs with salary**, **posted within N days**.
- 🔔 **Only-new-jobs mode**: run it on a schedule and get only jobs you haven't seen, ready for Slack, email, Google Sheets, Notion, Make, Zapier or n8n.
- 🧹 **Clean data**: de-duplicated across feeds, sorted newest first, HTML entities and mojibake fixed.
- 💸 **Pay only for results**.

### 📥 Input example

```json
{
  "tags": ["python", "react"],
  "excludeKeywords": ["senior"],
  "locationContains": ["Worldwide", "Europe"],
  "postedWithinDays": 30,
  "maxJobs": 100,
  "onlyNewJobs": true
}
```

### 📤 Output example

```json
{
  "id": "1137394",
  "title": "Sr Solutions Architect",
  "company": "ExtraHop",
  "location": "Remote",
  "tags": ["architecture", "infosec", "python", "api"],
}
```

### 💡 Who uses it

- **Job seekers**: a daily digest of new remote roles for your stack.
- **Newsletters, communities & Discord/Slack groups**: auto-post fresh remote jobs with a link back to Remote OK.
- **Recruiters & market research**: which companies hire remotely, for which skills, at what salary.
- **AI agents & automations**: structured remote-job data for assistants and workflows.

### 💰 Pricing

Pay per result: a small fixed price per job saved, with platform compute included. Use **Max jobs** to cap spend.

### 📜 Data source, attribution & limits

Data comes from the public [Remote OK API](https://remoteok.com/api). Its terms ask that, wherever you display the jobs, you **link back to the job's Remote OK URL (`url`) with a normal followed link and mention Remote OK as the source**. Please **don't use the Remote OK logo** without their written permission; using the name "Remote OK" is fine. Every result includes `url`, `source` and `sourceUrl` so you can comply easily. This Actor is not affiliated with Remote OK.

The API serves roughly the latest 100 jobs per feed (the main feed plus one feed per tag). For bigger datasets, add more tags or schedule the Actor daily with **Only new jobs** to build up your own history.

### ❓ FAQ

**Do I need an API key?** No.

**How often should I run it?** Once or twice a day is plenty. The Actor waits between requests to respect Remote OK's crawl delay.

**Missing something?** Open an issue on the Issues tab.

# Actor input Schema

## `tags` (type: `array`):

Remote OK tags to load, e.g. python, react, devops, design, marketing, customer-support, sales. Each tag returns up to ~100 latest jobs. Leave empty to load the latest jobs across all categories.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title, company, tags or description contain ANY of these words.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title, company or tags contain any of these words (e.g. 'senior', 'crypto').

## `locationContains` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose location text contains any of these, e.g. 'Worldwide', 'Europe', 'USA'.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only jobs published in the last N days (0 = any date).

## `minSalaryUsd` (type: `integer`):

Keep jobs whose published salary reaches at least this amount. Jobs without a salary are kept unless 'Only jobs with salary' is on.

## `salaryRequired` (type: `boolean`):

Drop jobs without a salary range.

## `maxJobs` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of jobs to save (0 = unlimited).

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add the job description as HTML and plain text.

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Remember jobs from previous runs and output only jobs you haven't received yet.

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Use different keys to keep separate memories for different saved searches.
