## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Hotels Scraper – Prices, Ratings & Booking Sites

Scrape **Google Hotels** for **any city, neighbourhood or landmark worldwide**. For your exact **dates, guests and currency** you get each hotel's **nightly price, total stay price with taxes and fees**, **star class**, **Google rating with the 1–5 star breakdown**, **what guests praise or complain about** (location, service, cleanliness…), **GPS coordinates, website, check-in/out times, nearby landmarks and photos**. Optionally add **the prices Google lists from booking sites** (Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com, Priceline, Agoda, Trip.com, official site).

**Fast and cheap**: 800 hotels across 8 cities in about a minute. **$2.50 per 1,000 hotels**, no start fee, no API key.

### What you can use it for

- **Hotel price monitoring & revenue management**: track your hotel and competitors' rates for future dates, every day.
- **Travel apps & comparison sites**: hotel lists with prices, ratings, photos and coordinates for any destination.
- **Market research**: average nightly rates, star mix and ratings by city or neighbourhood.
- **Lead generation**: hotel names, websites, star class and size of review base for B2B sales to hotels.
- **AI travel agents**: give an LLM live hotel options for a trip.

### How to scrape Google Hotels prices

1. **Create a free Apify account** (no credit card needed to start) and open this Actor.
2. **Add locations.** Type cities, areas or landmarks in **Locations** (for example *Kuala Lumpur*), or paste hotel links in **Hotel links**.
3. **Set the stay.** Fill *Check-in date*, *Check-out date*, *Adults* and children's ages, and choose the *Currency* you want prices in.
4. **Filter.** Use *Minimum guest rating*, *Minimum hotel class*, *Max price per night* and *Only hotels with a price*. Leave *Booking-site prices* on to compare the sites Google lists.
5. **Click Start.** Results appear in the **Output** tab while it runs.
6. **Download or connect.** Export as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read the dataset through the API, Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets or a webhook.
7. **Automate it.** Open **Schedules** and run daily with the same dates to watch how a price moves before the stay.

**Tips**

- Leave the dates empty for a quick look: the Actor then uses a stay of 2 nights starting 14 days from today. Set your own dates for the real price of your trip.
- Set *Currency* to the one your customers use; Google converts all prices for you.
- Google chooses which booking sites to list (often 3–6), so the lowest price may come from a site that isn't in the list.

```json
{
  "locations": ["New York", "Shibuya Tokyo", "beach resorts in Bali"],
  "checkInDate": "2026-12-10",
  "checkOutDate": "2026-12-13",
- **Dates**: leave empty for a stay 14 days from now (2 nights).
- **Currency**: any three-letter code (USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, SGD, INR, AED, …). Prices come back in that currency whatever country you target.
- **Filters**: minimum rating, minimum star class, max nightly price, only hotels with a price.
- **Hotel links**: paste Google Hotels links or `entityId`s from earlier runs to re-check their booking-site prices (e.g. a daily rate tracker).
### Pricing
| Result | Price | Per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel (price, ratings, location, photos…) | $0.0025 | **$2.50** |
| Booking-site prices for a hotel (optional) | +$0.002 | +$2.00 |
No start fee, no monthly rental. Hotels Google doesn't return are **not charged**, and booking-site prices are only charged when Google lists some.
### Use with AI (LangChain / LlamaIndex / CrewAI)
```python
from langchain_apify import ApifyWrapper
from langchain_core.documents import Document

apify = ApifyWrapper()  # reads APIFY_API_TOKEN
loader = apify.call_actor(
    actor_id="smoldesk/google-hotels-scraper",
    run_input={"locations": ["Lisbon"], "checkInDate": "2026-12-10", "checkOutDate": "2026-12-13", "maxResultsPerLocation": 30},
    dataset_mapping_function=lambda h: Document(
        page_content=f"{h['name']} ({h.get('hotelClass') or '?'}-star, rated {h.get('rating')}): "
                     f"{h.get('pricePerNightText')} per night. {h.get('description') or ''}",
        metadata={k: h.get(k) for k in ("googleUrl", "pricePerNight", "currency", "rating", "latitude", "longitude")},
    ),
)
docs = loader.load()
```
**CrewAI / Claude / MCP clients**: add the Actor as a tool through the Apify MCP server: `https://mcp.apify.com?actors=smoldesk/google-hotels-scraper`.
### Limitations
- Prices are what Google Hotels shows for your dates. The nightly price is Google's lowest listed rate. Some hotels show no price (sold out or not bookable through Google); they still appear unless you turn on **Only hotels with a price**.
- **Booking-site prices**: Google decides which sites to list, and the selection varies (often 3–6 sites). The lowest nightly price on the search result may come from a site that isn't in that list.
- Google lists up to a few thousand hotels per location. Use neighbourhoods for deeper coverage of big cities.
- Reviews text is not included (ratings, breakdown and review aspects are).
### FAQ
**Is there an official Google Hotels API?** Not for the public. This Actor reads the same public Google Travel pages a visitor sees, with no login or API key.
**Can I get prices in my currency?** Yes, set `currency`. Google converts all prices.
**How do I track prices every day?** Schedule the Actor in Apify with the same locations or hotel links and future dates, and compare `pricePerNight` across runs.
**Do I need proxies?** No. If Google rate-limits a run, the Actor switches to Apify datacenter proxies on its own.
**Is it legal?** It only collects publicly shown hotel information and prices. Follow the website terms and the laws that apply to your use.
