## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Business Contact Details Extractor – website email, phone and social link scraper

Give it a list of public business website addresses. It visits each site, reads the pages where contact details usually live (Contact, About, Team, Support, Impressum) and returns the email addresses, phone numbers and social media profile links the business has published.

You get one row per website, not one per page. Each row has the `domain`, `emails`, `phones`, `socialLinks`, `contactPageUrls`, `pagesCrawled` and a `status`. Schedule it to re-check a list of domains whenever you like.

### Why this one

- **One row per domain.** Duplicate domains, including www and non-www versions, are processed once, so you don't pay for noise.
- **Contact pages come first.** Contact and about pages are prioritised, so the useful details are found within a small page budget.
- **You set the limits.** Choose up to 30 pages per site, a crawl depth of 0 to 3, and up to 200 sites per run, so cost stays predictable.
- **Failures stay visible.** A site that can't be fetched still gets a row with `status` set to `error`, so you can see what was covered.
- **Respects robots.txt by default.** Paths disallowed for all user agents are skipped unless you turn this off.
- **Cheap.** $1.90 per 1,000 results, no start fee, and runs with no results cost nothing.

### Quick start

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    "https://www.iana.org",
    "https://www.w3.org",
    "https://www.apache.org"
  ],
  "maxPagesPerSite": 5,
  "maxDepth": 1,
  "maxSites": 5,
  "respectRobotsTxt": true
}
```

This returns one record per website with the emails, phone numbers and social links found on its pages.

### What you can use it for

| Who | What for |
| --- | --- |
| Lead generation teams | Add public contact emails and phone numbers to a list of company domains |
| Sales operations | Check CRM records against what a company currently publishes on its own site |
| Agencies | Map which social networks a set of businesses use |
| Market analysts | Build a directory of vendors or partners in one industry |
| Researchers | Collect published contact points for a group of organisations |

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Paste your homepages into **Website URLs**, one per line, for example `https://www.python.org`. Only http(s) links are accepted.
3. Set **Max pages per site** (1 to 30, default 8). Try 5 for a quick pass.
4. Set **Max crawl depth** (0 to 3, default 1). Zero means the start page only.
5. Set **Max sites** (1 to 200, default 50) to cap the run.
6. Leave **Respect robots.txt** on unless you have a reason to change it.
7. Click **Start**.

To keep a list fresh, save the input and run it from **Schedules**.

### What data you get

Each record describes one website. The examples come from a test run.

| Field | What it is | Example |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `id` | Stable ID for the domain | `60fb8a939117f3b8` |
| `url` | Start URL of the site | `https://www.iana.org/` |
| `domain` | Domain name | `iana.org` |
| `emails` | Email addresses found | `["iana@iana.org"]` |
| `phones` | Phone numbers found | `["+1-424-254-5300"]` |
| `socialLinks` | Profile links by network: `facebook`, `instagram`, `linkedin`, `tiktok`, `twitter`, `youtube` | `{"linkedin": []}` |
| `contactPageUrls` | Contact and about pages found | `["https://www.iana.org/contact"]` |
| `pagesCrawled` | Number of pages fetched | `5` |
| `status` | `ok` or `error` | `ok` |
| `error` | Error message if the fetch failed, otherwise empty | `null` |
| `crawledAt` | When the site was crawled | `2026-10-27T10:24:08.803Z` |

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
| --- | --- |
| Result (one per website written to the dataset) | $0.0019 |

| Run | Cost |
| --- | --- |
| 100 results | $0.19 |
| 1,000 results | $1.90 |
| 10,000 results | $19.00 |

### Good to know

- **Limits.** Up to 30 pages per site, depth 3 and 200 sites per run. Each request times out after 15 seconds.
- **Same domain only.** The crawler stays on the domain you supply.
- **Public pages only.** It fetches pages with a plain HTTP client. It doesn't log in, solve CAPTCHAs or run JavaScript, so contacts added only by scripts or hidden by obfuscation may be missed.
- **Phone detection.** It favours `tel:` links and North American number formats.
- **Freshness.** Results show what each site published at crawl time.
- **Your responsibility.** Use only business contact data you have a lawful basis to process, and follow laws such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR and CCPA when contacting people.
- **Not affiliated.** This tool isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any of the websites you crawl.

### FAQ

**Do I pay per page?** No. You pay per result, and each website produces one result.

**What if a site can't be reached?** You still get a row with `status` set to `error`.

**Are www and non-www treated as different sites?** No. They count as one domain and are processed once.

### Getting the data out

Download the results as Excel, CSV or JSON from the Output tab. Send them to Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier, Make or webhooks from the **Integrations** tab. Every run is also available through the Apify API, and you can schedule runs from **Schedules**.

### Questions or problems

Open an issue on the **Issues** tab and include the run link. I reply within one business day.
