## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google News Scraper: With Real Article URLs

Scrape **Google News** by keyword or by topic, in **any country and language**, and get every article with its headline, source, publish date and the **real article URL** (not the news.google.com redirect).

Fast and light: no browser, no proxies. Dozens of searches in a minute.

### Why this one?

- **Real publisher URLs.** Google News links are converted into the article's own URL, ready to open, store or scrape.
- **Keywords and topics.** Search anything (with Google News operators) or pull Top stories, World, Business, Technology, Sports, Science, Health and more.
- **Any edition.** US in English, Spain in Spanish, Brazil in Portuguese, Japan in Japanese...
- **No duplicates** across your searches and topics in one run.

### Use cases

- **Media monitoring and PR:** track every mention of your brand, competitors or executives.
- **Market and investment research:** follow companies, sectors and keywords daily.
- **Content and SEO:** find trending stories in your niche, in every market.
- **AI and data pipelines:** feed fresh news URLs into your summarizer, RAG or alerting system.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Search keywords** | One search per line. Operators work: `"exact phrase"`, `site:reuters.com`, `-exclude`, `OR`. |
| **Topics** | Top stories or sections: World, National, Business, Technology, Entertainment, Sports, Science, Health. |
| **Published within** | Last hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or any time (keyword searches). |
| **Language / Country** | The Google News edition, e.g. `en` + `US`, `es` + `ES`, `pt` + `BR`. |
| **Max articles per search or topic** | Up to 100, Google News' own limit. |
| **Get the real article URL** | Convert Google News links into publisher URLs. |

```json
{
  "queries": ["artificial intelligence", "\"electric vehicles\" site:reuters.com"],
  "topics": ["BUSINESS", "TECHNOLOGY"],
  "timeRange": "1d",
  "language": "en",
  "country": "US"
}
```

### Output

```json
{
  "query": "inteligencia artificial",
  "topic": null,
  "title": "La inteligencia artificial puede poner en peligro los secretos de una empresa sin que nadie se dé cuenta",
  "source": "Law&Trends",
  "url": "https://www.lawandtrends.com/noticias/empresa/la-inteligencia-artificial-puede-poner-en-peligro-los-secretos-de-una-empresa-sin-que-nadie-se-de-cuenta-1.html",
  "urlDecoded": true,
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-23T22:18:00Z",
  "sourceUrl": "https://www.lawandtrends.com",
  "snippet": "La inteligencia artificial puede poner en peligro los secretos de una empresa...",
  "googleNewsUrl": "https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi7gFBVV95cUxQ...",
  "language": "es",
  "country": "ES",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-23T23:59:00Z"
}
```

If Google doesn't return the publisher URL for an article, `url` keeps the Google News link and `urlDecoded` is `false`.

### Good to know

- Google News returns at most **100 articles per search or topic**. For more, split a search into narrower ones (by site, phrase or time range).
- Schedule it every hour or day to build a news feed or alerts.

### Pricing

Pay per article: you only pay for the articles saved to your dataset, no monthly fee.

### Integrations

Send new articles to Google Sheets, Slack, email, Zapier, Make, n8n or your own API with Apify integrations and webhooks.
