## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## 🛡️ US Consolidated Screening List — Fuzzy Match & Delta Monitor

Screen counterparties and monitor restricted-party changes across the official U.S. Consolidated Screening List (CSL). One run covers active export and sanctions records consolidated by the Departments of Commerce, State, and Treasury — not only the OFAC SDN list.

### 🇺🇸 Broader than an OFAC-only exporter

The official CSL combines records from sources including:

- OFAC SDN and non-SDN sanctions lists;
- BIS Entity List, Denied Persons List, Unverified List, and Military End User List;
- State Department debarred and nonproliferation lists;
- additional federal export-control and restricted-party sources represented in the CSL.

### 🔎 Two workflows in one Actor

#### Name screening

Submit people, organizations, vessels, or company names. The Actor compares each input with official primary names and aliases using deterministic normalized similarity and returns the best matches above your threshold.

Each result includes the input name, matched primary name or alias, match location, score, source list, programs, countries, addresses, identifiers, remarks, and official reference URLs.

#### Snapshot and delta monitoring

Leave `screeningNames` empty to filter or export active CSL entries. Every entry receives a stable `entityKey` and SHA-256 `fingerprint`. Feed the prior run's key/fingerprint map back through `previousFingerprints` and enable `deltaOnly` to return only new or changed records.

### ⚙️ Filters and output

- country or ISO code;
- source list;
- sanctions program;
- entity type;
- free-text search across names, aliases, programs, source, and remarks;
- optional aliases, addresses, and official identifiers;
- strict result and charge limits.

The source metadata includes the official download URL, `Last-Modified`, ETag, source-list URLs, and collection timestamp for reproducible monitoring.

### 🚀 Common uses

- vendor, customer, payment, and counterparty screening workflows;
- export-control and trade-compliance research;
- procurement watchlists and scheduled list-change alerts;
- compliance data warehouses, dashboards, webhooks, n8n, Make, and AI agents.

### Example screening input

```json
{
  "screeningNames": ["Bank of Kunlun", "Example Trading Company"],
  "minimumMatchScore": 80,
  "countries": ["CN"],
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

### Result-based billing

Snapshot/export rows and fuzzy screening matches use separate events. Filters and delta comparison run before dataset writes, so omitted and unchanged entries do not create result charges.

### 🔌 API & integrations

Run this Actor from the Apify Console, API, CLI, MCP, Make, Zapier or n8n. Replace the Actor identifier and token in this template:

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/us-csl-fuzzy-screening-delta-monitor/runs?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{}'
```

Results are stored in the run's default dataset and can be forwarded with Apify webhooks or scheduled Tasks.

### 🔎 Search keywords

### 💰 Pricing

Billing is tied to successfully delivered result events. Empty, filtered, duplicate or failed records are not charged as results. Open the **Pricing** tab for the current per-event rate before starting a run, and use Apify's maximum-charge control to enforce a hard budget.
