## Pricing

from $4.00 / 1,000 grant opportunities

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Federal Grants Watch (Grants.gov)

Monitor **federal grant opportunities** from the official [Grants.gov](https://www.grants.gov/) `search2` API. Each run returns opportunities that are **new or updated** since your last run (or all matches when `emitAll` is true)—ideal for nonprofits, researchers, grant writers, and AI agents tracking funding.

### Data source

| | |
|---|---|
| **API** | `POST https://api.grants.gov/v1/api/search2` (public, no API key) |
| **Terms** | Use consistent with Grants.gov terms of use; do not misrepresent affiliation with the U.S. government. |
| **Updates** | Reflects Grants.gov search index (posted, forecasted, and closed statuses per your filters). |

### Sample run vs. monitoring

- **Sample / first try:** leave **`emitAll`: true** (default in the Console prefill) with **`maxResults`: 10** to see current opportunities without reading change detection.
- **Scheduled monitoring:** set **`emitAll`: false** on a daily or weekly schedule. The Actor stores a fingerprint per opportunity id and emits only **new** rows or **updated** rows (title, dates, status, CFDA list, etc. changed).

### Pricing

Pay per result pushed (built-in Apify per-result event) plus **$0.003 per run start**, same as other Soco Supply data monitors (~**$4 per 1,000 results**).

### Input highlights

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `keyword` | Official Grants.gov keyword search |
| `agencies` | Agency codes (e.g. `HHS-NIH11`) |
| `fundingCategories` / `eligibilities` / `fundingInstruments` | Grants.gov filter codes |
| `cfda` / `opportunityNumber` | Narrow to one program or opportunity |
| `oppStatuses` | `posted`, `forecasted`, `closed` |
| `maxResults` | Cap rows per run |
| `emitAll` | Sample mode vs delta mode |

### Output

Each dataset row includes `opportunityId`, `opportunityNumber`, `title`, `agencyName`, `openDate`, `closeDate`, `oppStatus`, `cfdaNumbers`, `grantsGovUrl`, and `changeType` (`new`, `updated`, or `unchanged` when `emitAll` is true).

# Actor input Schema

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Grants.gov full-text keyword search (official search2 API).

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

After the API search, keep only opportunities whose title contains any of these (case-insensitive).

## `agencies` (type: `array`):

Grants.gov agency codes (e.g. HHS-NIH11, USDOJ-OJP-NIJ). Empty = any agency in the status filter.

## `fundingCategories` (type: `array`):

Grants.gov funding category codes. Empty = all categories.

## `eligibilities` (type: `array`):

Grants.gov applicant eligibility codes. Empty = all.

## `fundingInstruments` (type: `array`):

Grants.gov funding instrument codes (grant, cooperative agreement, etc.). Empty = all.

## `cfda` (type: `string`):

Filter to a single CFDA number (e.g. 93.399).

## `opportunityNumber` (type: `string`):

Filter to a specific opportunity number (e.g. RFA-CA-28-013).

## `oppStatuses` (type: `array`):

Statuses to include in the Grants.gov query.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Grants.gov sortBy value (default newest open date first).

## `pageSize` (type: `integer`):

Rows per Grants.gov API request (max 500).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after pushing this many opportunities (0 = unlimited).

## `emitAll` (type: `boolean`):

If true, push every opportunity matching filters (changeType new, updated, or unchanged). If false, only new or updated since the last run. Prefill enables a sample on first run.
