## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Multi-ATS Job Scraper & New-Job Monitor

Get every open job from company career boards on **Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Recruitee, SmartRecruiters and Personio** in one clean, consistent format. Filter by title keywords, location, department, remote and posting date, and switch on **monitor mode** to receive only the jobs that are new since your last run.

No login, no browser, no proxies: the actor reads the public job-board APIs these applicant tracking systems publish for career pages, so runs are fast and cheap.

### What you can use it for

- **Job alerts**: watch 5 or 500 target companies and get only the new roles every morning (schedule + Slack/email/webhook integration).
- **Recruiting and sales intelligence**: see who is hiring for what, where, and at what salary (when the board publishes it).
- **Job boards and newsletters**: feed a niche job board (remote, AI, climate, Go developers...) from company boards directly.
- **Market research**: count openings by department, location or seniority across a list of companies.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `companies` (required) | One per line: `ats:slug` (e.g. `greenhouse:figma`), a careers-page URL (e.g. `https://jobs.lever.co/palantir`), or just a slug (the actor tries each supported ATS). |
| `keywords` / `excludeKeywords` | Keep / drop jobs whose title contains any of these words (whole-word, case-insensitive). |
| `searchInDescription` | Also match keywords in the description. |
| `locations` | Keep jobs whose location contains any of these (e.g. `London`, `Germany`, `Remote`). |
| `remoteOnly` | Only jobs marked remote. |
| `departments` | Keep jobs whose department/team contains any of these. |
| `postedWithinDays` | Only jobs published in the last N days. |
| `onlyNewJobs` + `monitorName` | Monitor mode: output only jobs not returned by earlier runs of the same monitor. |
| `includeDescription` / `includeDescriptionHtml` | Plain-text description (default on) and the original HTML (default off). |
| `maxJobsPerCompany` / `maxJobs` | Limits. |

Example:

```json
{
  "companies": ["greenhouse:figma", "ashby:ramp", "https://jobs.lever.co/palantir", "workable:huggingface"],
  "keywords": ["engineer", "data scientist"],
  "excludeKeywords": ["intern"],
  "remoteOnly": false,
  "onlyNewJobs": true,
  "monitorName": "my-target-companies"
}
```

#### How do I find a company's slug?

Open the company's careers page and look at the job links:
| ATS | Careers URL looks like | Entry |
|---|---|---|
| Greenhouse | `boards.greenhouse.io/figma` or `job-boards.greenhouse.io/figma` | `greenhouse:figma` |
| Lever | `jobs.lever.co/palantir` | `lever:palantir` |
| Ashby | `jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp` | `ashby:ramp` |
| Workable | `apply.workable.com/huggingface` | `workable:huggingface` |
| Recruitee | `bunq.recruitee.com` | `recruitee:bunq` |
| SmartRecruiters | `jobs.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup` | `smartrecruiters:BoschGroup` (case-sensitive) |
| Personio | `1komma5grad.jobs.personio.de` | `personio:1komma5grad` |

You can paste the careers URL itself; the actor works out the ATS and slug.

### Output

One item per job, the same fields for every ATS (empty when a board does not publish a field):

```json
{
  "ats": "ashby",
  "company": "ramp",
  "companyName": "ramp",
  "jobId": "34413f8d-...",
  "title": "Security Engineer, Cloud",
  "department": "Engineering",
  "team": "Backend",
  "location": "New York, NY (HQ)",
  "locations": ["New York, NY (HQ)", "Remote (Canada)"],
  "country": "USA",
  "remote": false,
  "workplaceType": "Hybrid",
  "employmentType": "FullTime",
  "seniority": null,
  "salaryMin": 211400,
  "salaryMax": 290600,
  "salaryCurrency": "USD",
  "salaryPeriod": "1 YEAR",
  "salaryText": "$211.4K - $290.6K",
  "postedAt": "2026-04-07T17:12:35Z",
  "updatedAt": null,
  "jobUrl": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp/34413f8d-...",
  "applyUrl": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp/34413f8d-.../application",
  "descriptionText": "...",
  "isNew": true,
  "firstSeenAt": "2026-11-01T04:10:00Z",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-11-01T04:10:00Z",
  "input": "ashby:ramp"
}
```

`isNew` and `firstSeenAt` are filled in monitor mode. A per-company summary (jobs on the board, matched, output, any error such as a wrong slug) is saved in the run's key-value store as `OUTPUT`.

Salary fields come straight from the board: Ashby, Lever and Recruitee publish structured pay when the company enables it; Greenhouse, Workable, SmartRecruiters and Personio usually do not.

### Monitor mode (new-job alerts)

1. Turn on **Only new jobs since the last run** and give the monitor a name.
2. Save as a task and add a **schedule** (e.g. every day at 8:00).
3. Add an integration (Slack, email, Google Sheets, webhook, Make/Zapier) to receive the new jobs.

The first run returns all matching jobs and remembers them. Later runs return only jobs not seen before. Jobs that close are forgotten, so a re-opened role is reported again. If a board fails to load in a run, its memory is kept so you do not get a flood of "new" jobs next time.

### Pricing

Pay per result: you are charged per job in the output (see the price on the Pricing tab), plus the small standard Actor start event. Filters are applied before output, so you pay only for jobs you keep; in monitor mode you pay only for new jobs. Set a maximum cost per run in the run options to cap spending.

### Limits and notes

- Supports public career boards only; private or internal postings are not available.
- SmartRecruiters needs one extra request per job for the description; switch off `includeDescription` for very large SmartRecruiters boards to go faster.
- Very large boards (thousands of jobs) are fine; use `maxJobsPerCompany` or `maxJobs` to cap runs.
- Company names: Lever and Ashby do not publish a display name, so `companyName` is the slug there.
- Descriptions come from the board's own feed; some Personio companies publish an empty description in their feed, so `descriptionText` is empty for them.
- A bare slug is tried on every supported ATS; when several boards share the name, the one with the most jobs is used and the run log names the others (write `ats:slug` to choose).

### Legal and responsible use

The actor reads only public job listings through the official public job-board endpoints that these ATS vendors provide for career pages and job aggregation. It does not log in, bypass any protection, or collect personal data of candidates. Job descriptions belong to the employers: use the data in line with the boards' terms and applicable law (for example, link back to the original posting when you republish).

### Changelog

- 1.0 (Nov 2026): first release — 7 ATS, filters, monitor mode, per-company summary.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

One per line. Use 'ats:slug' (e.g. greenhouse:figma, lever:palantir, ashby:ramp, workable:huggingface, recruitee:bunq, smartrecruiters:BoschGroup, personio:1komma5grad), a careers-page URL (e.g. https://jobs.lever.co/palantir), or just a slug (the actor tries every supported ATS).

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title contains any of these words or phrases (whole-word match, case-insensitive). Leave empty for all jobs.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these (e.g. senior, intern).

## `searchInDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Match keywords in the job description as well as the title (needs 'Include description').

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose location text contains any of these (e.g. London, Germany, Remote).

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs the board marks as remote (or whose location says Remote).

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose department or team contains any of these (e.g. Engineering, Sales).

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep only jobs published in the last N days (jobs without a date are dropped when this is set).

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Remember the jobs already returned and output only new ones on later runs. Schedule the actor (e.g. daily) and connect a webhook, Slack or email integration to get alerts. The first run returns all matching jobs.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Optional name for this monitor's memory, so several schedules keep separate lists. Defaults to a name made from the company list.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add the plain-text job description (slower for SmartRecruiters, which needs one extra request per job).

## `includeDescriptionHtml` (type: `boolean`):

Also keep the original HTML of the description.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Limit results per company (0 or empty = no limit).

## `maxJobs` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs in total (0 or empty = no limit).
