## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Tech Stack Detector: CMS, Frameworks, Analytics & Hosting

Find out **what any website is built with**, in bulk. Paste domains and get, for each site, the detected **CMS / ecommerce platform, JavaScript framework, analytics & ad pixels, tag manager, CDN, hosting, web server, live chat, payments, cookie consent, A/B testing** and more, with the **evidence** behind every detection. A lightweight Wappalyzer / BuiltWith alternative.

### Use cases

- **Lead generation & sales prospecting**: find Shopify stores, WordPress sites or HubSpot users in a list of domains and qualify leads by stack.
- **Competitor research**: see which analytics, A/B testing and chat tools competitors use.
- **Agencies**: audit client/prospect sites before a pitch (outdated jQuery, no analytics, no CDN…).
- **Market research**: measure technology adoption across thousands of domains.

### Output

One row per site:

```json
{
  "url": "https://example.com",
  "domain": "example.com",
  "finalUrl": "https://www.example.com/",
  "statusCode": 200,
  "pageTitle": "Example — Home",
  "server": "cloudflare",
  "technologyCount": 6,
  "technologyNames": ["Next.js", "React", "Cloudflare", "Google Tag Manager", "Stripe", "HSTS"],
  "categories": {"JavaScript framework": ["Next.js"], "CDN": ["Cloudflare"]},
  "technologies": [{"name": "Next.js", "category": "JavaScript framework", "version": null, "evidence": ["html:/_next/static/"]}]
}
```

### Detected technologies (100+)

CMS & builders (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Ghost, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Framer, HubSpot CMS, Contentful, Sanity), ecommerce (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, PrestaShop, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Ecwid), frameworks (Next.js, Nuxt, Gatsby, React, Vue, Angular, Svelte, Astro, Remix, jQuery, Bootstrap, Tailwind, Alpine, htmx), backends (PHP, ASP.NET, Express, Rails, Django, Laravel, Java), servers/CDN/hosting (Nginx, Apache, IIS, LiteSpeed, Cloudflare, CloudFront, Fastly, Akamai, Vercel, Netlify, GitHub Pages, S3, Heroku, Varnish), analytics & ads (GA, GTM, Segment, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Hotjar, Clarity, Plausible, PostHog, Heap, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn, TikTok, Google Ads, AdSense), marketing (HubSpot, Marketo, Klaviyo, Mailchimp), chat/support (Intercom, Drift, Zendesk, Crisp, Tawk.to, LiveChat, Freshchat), payments (Stripe, PayPal), security & consent (reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha, Turnstile, OneTrust, Cookiebot, HSTS), monitoring (Sentry, Datadog, New Relic), A/B testing, search, fonts, video and more.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| urls | Domains or URLs |
| maxSites | Hard cap (and cost) |
| concurrency | Parallel fetches |

### Pricing

Pay-per-event: **$0.003 per site analyzed** (1,000 sites = $3). Sites that fail to load (DNS errors, timeouts, HTTP 4xx/5xx) are returned with an `error` but **not charged**. No start fee.

### Notes

- Analyzes the public homepage HTML and HTTP response headers (no browser), so it's fast and cheap. Technologies injected only at runtime by JavaScript may be missed.
- No login, no personal data collected.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "urls": [
        "https://vercel.com",
        "wordpress.org"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("spbros/website-tech-stack-detector").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
