## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Ads Transparency Scraper: Competitor Ads by Domain

See every ad a company runs on Google (Search, YouTube, Display, Maps, Shopping and Play) from the public **Google Ads Transparency Center**, as a table you can filter, sort and export:

- **Ad format**: text, image or video
- **First and last shown dates**, so you can see what is running now and what ran for months
- **Ad image** (archived image of text and image ads) or the **preview link** Google uses to render it
- **Number of countries** the ad ran in, and with details on, **which countries** and when it last ran in each
- **Every variation** of the ad (optional)
- **Direct link** to the ad in the Transparency Center

Search by **domain** (nike.com), **advertiser name** (Nike, Inc.) or **advertiser ID**. Filter by country, format and date. You pay only for ads returned.

### Output

One item per ad:

```json
{
  "input": "nike.com",
  "advertiserId": "AR16735076323512287233",
  "advertiserName": "Nike, Inc.",
  "creativeId": "CR01371934471284064257",
  "format": "text",
  "firstShown": "2025-04-03T19:41:16.000Z",
  "lastShown": "2026-10-17T18:09:19.000Z",
  "regionCount": 154,
  "imageUrl": "https://tpc.googlesyndication.com/archive/simgad/2263513601182486944",
  "previewUrl": null,
  "totalAdsForQuery": { "min": 8000, "max": 9000 },
  "variations": ["https://tpc.googlesyndication.com/archive/simgad/2263513601182486944", "..."],
  "regions": [{ "region": "US", "lastShown": "2026-09-01" }]
}
```

`variations` and `regions` are added when **Include all variations and regions** is on.

### Input

```json
{
  "advertisers": ["nike.com", "Shopify Inc.", "AR16735076323512287233"],
  "maxAdsPerAdvertiser": 200,
  "region": "US",
  "format": "video",
  "shownFrom": "2026-09-01"
}
```

### Typical uses

- **Competitor research:** see which ads and offers competitors are running right now, and which ones they have kept running for months (usually the ones that work).
- **Creative inspiration:** collect ad images and videos in your niche.
- **Agency pitches and audits:** show a prospect what their competitors spend their Google budget on.
- **Lead generation:** find companies that are actively advertising on Google in a country.
- **Monitoring:** run it weekly on a schedule and compare new ads with last week.

### Pricing

$1.00 per 1,000 ads ($0.001 per ad), the same with or without details.

200 ads cost $0.20. Apify's paid plans get a discount; the Pricing tab shows yours. Advertisers or domains with no ads cost nothing.

### Good to know

- Results come from Google's public Transparency Center, the same data anyone can see at adstransparency.google.com. No Google account is needed.
- Google shows the total number of ads only as a range (for example 8,000 to 9,000), which is returned as `totalAdsForQuery`.
- Text ads are archived by Google as images; `imageUrl` shows the ad as it appeared. Video and some responsive ads have a `previewUrl` (Google's own preview script) instead.
- An advertiser name can match several advertisers. The tool picks the one with the most ads and names it in the run log; use a domain or the advertiser ID for an exact match.
- Inputs that return no ads are listed in the run's `NO_ADS_FOUND` record and are not charged.

### Questions

#### Can I run it on a schedule?

Yes. Save your input as a task, set **Shown on or after** to a recent date, and add an Apify schedule.

#### How do I get the results into Excel or Google Sheets?

Download the results as Excel, CSV or JSON from the Output tab, or connect Apify to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets.

#### Something looks wrong

Open a report under the Issues tab with the input you used.

# Actor input Schema

## `advertisers` (type: `array`):

One per line: a website domain (nike.com), an advertiser name (Nike, Inc.), an advertiser ID (AR...) or a Transparency Center link. A name is matched to the advertiser with the most ads; the run log says which one was used.

## `maxAdsPerAdvertiser` (type: `integer`):

Most recently shown ads first.

## `region` (type: `string`):

Only ads shown in this country.

## `format` (type: `string`):

Only text, image or video ads.

## `shownFrom` (type: `string`):

Only ads that were running on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `shownTo` (type: `string`):

Only ads that were running on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Adds every image or preview variation of each ad and the countries where it ran, with the last date shown in each. Slower (one extra request per ad); the price is the same.
