# Conference Agenda & Speaker Scraper (`springlike_meadowland/conference-agenda-scraper`) Actor

Turn public Pretalx schedules into structured session and speaker lists for event research and sponsor planning. Get times, rooms, tracks, abstracts and source links in JSON, CSV or Excel. Start from an event URL; filter by date or track.

## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 saved sessions

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Conference Agenda & Speaker Scraper

Turn a published Pretalx agenda into a session table for event research, sponsor planning, speaker programming analysis, and schedule comparisons. Each row includes the title, speakers, time, room, track, session link, and original schedule export. Download the dataset as JSON, CSV, or Excel.

### Quick start

Paste a public Pretalx event URL or its `schedule.json` export URL:

```json
{
  "eventUrls": ["https://pretalx.com/juliacon-local-paris-2025/"],
  "maxSessionsPerEvent": 10
}
```

A session from that published agenda looks like this:

```json
{
  "event": "JuliaCon Local Paris 2025",
  "title": "Opening",
  "session_id": "UWYT8L",
  "speakers": ["Guillaume Dalle"],
  "abstract": "-",
  "description": "-",
  "start": "2025-10-02T08:50:00+02:00",
  "end": "2025-10-02T09:00:00+02:00",
  "time_zone": "Europe/Paris",
  "room": "Jean-Baptiste Say Amphitheater",
  "track": "General",
  "language": "en",
  "session_url": "https://pretalx.com/juliacon-local-paris-2025/talk/UWYT8L/",
  "source_url": "https://pretalx.com/juliacon-local-paris-2025/schedule/export/schedule.json",
  "cancelled": false
}
```

### Inputs and coverage

- `eventUrls`: 1–10 public HTTPS Pretalx event homepages, schedule pages, or direct `schedule.json` export URLs. The Actor reads a published Frab-compatible JSON schedule export. A source must expose this public export; a private or unreleased schedule has no rows to collect.
- `maxSessionsPerEvent`: 1–3,000 saved sessions per event; defaults to 10 for a quick preview.
- `dateFilter`: optional exact event date such as `2025-10-02`.
- `trackFilter`: optional exact track name; letter case is ignored.

This Actor reads Pretalx's published Frab-compatible JSON shape. It does not collect arbitrary conference websites, generic Frab instances without a verified export, attendee lists, private APIs, or speaker email/contact details. A public export over 4 MiB is outside the current input limit. Schedule facts reflect the source at run time; organizers can later change or cancel sessions.

### Results and billing

The default dataset has one row per distinct saved session. Timestamps retain their source UTC offsets; `time_zone` contains the schedule's named zone when supplied. Missing fields are `null`, and sessions without a speaker have `speakers: []`. A source cancellation flag appears as `cancelled`.

Open **Run summary** for per-event fetched, saved, skipped, errors, and limit reasons. An event may return fewer rows than its schedule because of your filters, the per-event cap, an unavailable export, or the run's spending limit. Failed exports and summaries appear only in the run summary, never as session rows. Under per-result pricing, the billing unit is a **saved session row**; review the current Store price and run spending limit before running.

# Actor input Schema

## `eventUrls` (type: `array`):

Enter 1–10 public Pretalx event URLs, schedule pages, or schedule.json export URLs. The example is a published JuliaCon schedule.

## `maxSessionsPerEvent` (type: `integer`):

Start with 10 rows. Increase up to 3,000 for larger published agendas; check the run summary for any limit or source error.

## `dateFilter` (type: `string`):

Optional exact schedule date in YYYY-MM-DD format.

## `trackFilter` (type: `string`):

Optional exact track name, ignoring letter case.
