## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Greenhouse & Lever Jobs Scraper

Get one clean job table from the public Greenhouse and Lever boards you already know. Each row includes the source job ID, title, locations, description, job and application links, plus department, employment type, and publication date when the provider supplies them.

### Quick start

```json
{
  "boardUrls": ["greenhouse:greenhouse", "https://jobs.lever.co/sep"],
  "maxJobsPerBoard": 10,
  "includeDescription": false
}
```

Use a board URL or `greenhouse:TOKEN`, `lever:SITE`, or `lever-eu:SITE`. The Actor supports 1–20 boards and saves up to 2,000 jobs per board. The default is 10 per board. Optional `titleContains` and `locationContains` filters match case insensitive substrings before saving. `includeDescription: false` leaves description text null; Greenhouse also omits departments because its API supplies them with content.

Example rows with descriptions turned off:

| Provider | Company | Title | Location | Employment type | Apply URL |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Greenhouse | Greenhouse | Commercial Counsel | Eastern Timezone | — | [Apply](https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/greenhouse/jobs/8126988?gh_jid=8126988) |
| Lever | — | Azure Solution Architect (in person) | Westfield, IN | Full-time | [Apply](https://jobs.lever.co/sep/7b96b0c6-8429-4861-bf69-a00956e42a8d/apply) |

See [full example JSON](examples/live-sample.json). Lever does not supply a company name or published date in its documented list fields, so those values are null. No salary or remote status is inferred.

### Supported sources and limits

- Greenhouse public [Job Board GET API](https://docs.greenhouse.io/job-board.html): board details supply the company name, and the jobs list can include content and departments. Greenhouse returns its full list in one request; the Actor stops saving at your cap.
- Lever public [Postings API](https://github.com/lever/postings-api): the Actor pages through the global or EU postings API. It uses the documented hosted and application URLs and `categories.commitment` for employment type.

This Actor does not discover boards, submit applications, use candidate endpoints, or support other ATS providers. A board can be empty or unavailable. Inputs must be public HTTPS board URLs on the supported hosts; redirects to other hosts are rejected. Each response is limited to 12 MiB; a run is limited to 120 requests or 100 seconds of source work. Lever scans at most 4,000 postings per board. The summary reports when these or the requested row limit cut coverage short.

### Results and billing

The default dataset contains one normalized job per row. `OUTPUT` in the default key value store reports fetched, saved, skipped, errors, limits, request count, and unprocessed boards. A saved job row is the result unit; duplicate IDs, filtered or malformed jobs, and summary records are not job results. If a board fails, earlier dataset rows remain, the run fails, and `OUTPUT` records the board error. Spending limits stop further saved rows and boards.

### Field meaning

`id` combines provider, board, and provider posting ID. `company` is the Greenhouse board name when available; Lever returns null because its postings response has no company name field. `locations` contains provider supplied locations. `department` comes from Greenhouse departments or Lever department/team. `employment_type` uses Lever commitment; Greenhouse is null. `description_text` is plain text if requested and supplied. `published_at` uses Greenhouse `first_published`; Lever is null. `job_url` and `apply_url` use only provider supplied HTTPS links. `source_url` identifies the board.
