## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Lever Jobs Scraper — Any Lever Careers Site | $1/1K

**Paste a jobs.lever.co site, get every open posting as clean JSON. $1 per 1,000 jobs.**

Lever runs the careers pages of companies such as Spotify and Palantir. This Actor reads Lever's **official public Postings API** — the JSON feed behind `jobs.lever.co/<company>` — and returns each posting with team, department, commitment, workplace type, locations, salary range, full description and apply link.

- ✅ **Any Lever site** — `jobs.lever.co/<company>`, EU-hosted `jobs.eu.lever.co/<company>`, or just the site name (`spotify`)
- ✅ **Structured salary** — uses the `salaryRange` Lever publishes and falls back to ranges stated in the text
- ✅ **Workplace type** — onsite / hybrid / remote straight from Lever, plus a remote flag
- ✅ **Monitor mode** — run it on a schedule and pay only for new postings
- ✅ **Filters** — keywords, excluded words, location, remote, team/department, posted within N days
- ✅ **No browser, no proxy, no login**, no personal data (recruiter names and e-mail addresses are never output)

> Looking for Greenhouse, Ashby, Workday and SmartRecruiters as well? The combined [ATS Jobs API](https://apify.com/steadyrow/ats-jobs) handles all of them in one run. This Actor is the Lever-only version.

### Use cases

- Build a **job board or newsletter** from the Lever companies you follow
- **Alerts for new roles** at target employers (daily monitor → Slack, e-mail, Sheets)
- **Competitor hiring intelligence**: which teams are growing, in which cities
- **Pay-range datasets** by role and location
- Give an **AI agent** a structured feed of open roles

### Input

```json
{
    "sites": [
        "https://jobs.lever.co/spotify",
        "palantir",
        "https://jobs.eu.lever.co/<company>"
    ],
    "keywords": ["engineer", "data"],
    "excludeKeywords": ["intern"],
    "locations": ["New York", "London", "Remote"],
    "departments": ["Engineering"],
    "postedWithinDays": 60,
    "maxItemsPerSource": 200,
    "monitorMode": false
}
```

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `sites` | **Required.** One per line: a Lever URL, a site name (`spotify` or `lever:spotify`), a job URL (the whole site is scraped) or a company careers page that embeds a Lever site. **EU-hosted sites need the `jobs.eu.lever.co` URL** — a bare name is looked up on the US host. |
| `keywords`, `excludeKeywords`, `searchInDescription` | Title keyword filters (whole word, case-insensitive); optionally also match the description. |
| `locations` | Keep jobs whose location, any extra location or country contains one of these words. `remote` matches remote jobs. |
| `remote` | `any`, `remote_only` or `exclude_remote`. |
| `departments` | Keep jobs whose Lever team or department contains one of these strings. |
| `postedWithinDays` | Only postings created in the last N days. |
| `maxItemsPerSource` / `maxItems` | Limits per site / per run (0 = no limit). |
| `includeDescription`, `includeDescriptionHtml` | Plain-text and/or HTML description. |
| `monitorMode`, `monitorStateName` | Only output postings not delivered before; name of the store that remembers them. |

Your site name is the last part of the careers address: `https://jobs.lever.co/<site-name>`.

### Output

```json
{
    "job_id": "lever:spotify:1961fa91-bdba-450a-bfb6-fc8d8d5c9e9c",
    "ats": "lever",
    "company": "Spotify",
    "company_board_id": "spotify",
    "title": "State and Local Government Affairs Manager",
    "department": "Data and Analytics",
    "team": "Trust & Safety",
    "location": "New York, NY",
    "locations": ["New York, NY"],
    "country": "US",
    "remote": false,
    "workplace_type": "onsite",
    "employment_type": "FULL_TIME",
    "posted_at": "2026-08-26T14:45:54.011Z",
    "updated_at": null,
    "salary_min": 139683,
    "salary_max": 199548,
    "salary_currency": "USD",
    "salary_period": "YEAR",
    "salary_source": "description",
    "description_text": "…",
    "apply_url": "https://jobs.lever.co/spotify/1961fa91-bdba-450a-bfb6-fc8d8d5c9e9c/apply",
    "source_url": "https://jobs.lever.co/spotify/1961fa91-bdba-450a-bfb6-fc8d8d5c9e9c",
    "input": "lever:spotify",
    "scraped_at": "2026-10-20T16:47:48.654Z"
}
```

Lever-specific notes:

- `team` and `department` come from Lever's `categories`; companies fill them inconsistently, so `department` is empty on some sites.
- `employment_type` is Lever's "commitment" (`FULL_TIME`, `PART_TIME`, `CONTRACT`, `INTERN`…) mapped to a fixed list; `null` if the posting has none.
- `posted_at` is the posting's creation time.
- Lever does not return a display name for the company; `company` is derived from the site name.
- A per-site summary (listed / output / errors) is saved as `SUMMARY` in the key-value store.

### Monitor mode

Turn on **Monitor mode**, save the input as a task and schedule it. The first run returns all matching postings; every later run returns only those you have not received (state is kept per site in the key-value store `lever-jobs-monitor`, for 90 days after a posting was last seen). Tested: second run returned 0 postings; after forgetting 6 postings a third run returned exactly those 6.

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Job in the dataset | **$0.001** ($1 per 1,000 jobs) |
| Actor start | $0.002 per run |

1,000 postings ≈ $1. Filtered-out postings and already delivered ones (monitor mode) are free. Use **Maximum cost per run** to cap spending.

### FAQ

**How many postings does a site have?** All of them; the API pages through the complete list. In our tests Spotify had 81 and Palantir more than 100 open postings.

**A site says "not found".** The site name is wrong, the company does not use Lever (in our tests `plaid` returned "not found"), or it is hosted on the EU endpoint — paste the `jobs.eu.lever.co` URL.

**Is it legal?** It reads public postings from Lever's public Postings API, without login or protection bypass, and outputs no personal data. You are responsible for your use of the data.

# Actor input Schema

## `sites` (type: `array`):

One per line. Paste a Lever URL (https://jobs.lever.co/spotify, https://jobs.eu.lever.co/<company>), a site name (`spotify` or `lever:spotify`), a job URL (the whole site is scraped), or a company careers page that embeds a Lever site. EU-hosted sites need the jobs.eu.lever.co URL.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title contains at least one of these words (whole-word, case-insensitive). Leave empty to keep all.

## `searchInDescription` (type: `boolean`):

By default keywords are matched against the job title only.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words (e.g. Senior, Intern).

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose location, any of their locations, or country contains one of these words (whole-word, case-insensitive; e.g. London, Germany, US). Use `remote` to match remote jobs.

## `remote` (type: `string`):

Filter by remote eligibility.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose Lever team or department contains one of these strings (e.g. Engineering).

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only jobs posted in the last N days. 0 = no limit.

## `maxItemsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs from one board. 0 = all jobs.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop the whole run after this many jobs. 0 = no limit.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Adds `description_text` (the full job text as plain text).

## `includeDescriptionHtml` (type: `boolean`):

Adds `description_html` (cleaned original HTML).

## `monitorMode` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers every job already delivered (per board) and outputs only jobs you have not received before. The first run outputs all matching jobs. Ideal for a daily schedule — you only pay for new jobs.

## `monitorStateName` (type: `string`):

Name of the key-value store that keeps the list of delivered jobs. Use a different name per task if you run several independent monitors.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Detail requests run in parallel up to this number. Requests to one ATS host are additionally limited to about 4 per second.
