## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SmartRecruiters Jobs Scraper — Any Company | $1/1K

**Paste a SmartRecruiters company, get its open jobs as clean JSON. $1 per 1,000 jobs.**

SmartRecruiters hosts the careers pages of companies such as Bosch, ServiceNow and Equinox. This Actor uses SmartRecruiters' **official public Posting API** (`api.smartrecruiters.com/v1/companies/<id>/postings`), which returns only the jobs a company has chosen to publish, and adds each posting's full description, department, location, employment type and apply link.

- ✅ **Any SmartRecruiters company** — `careers.smartrecruiters.com/<Company>`, `jobs.smartrecruiters.com/<Company>`, or the company ID (`BoschGroup`)
- ✅ **Full postings** — description text/HTML, department, function, country, remote flag, employment type
- ✅ **Monitor mode** — schedule it and pay only for newly published jobs
- ✅ **Filters** — keywords, excluded words, location, remote, department, posted within N days
- ✅ **Fast without descriptions** — turn descriptions off and a listing run needs no per-job requests
- ✅ Official API, no browser, no proxy, no login; no recruiter names or contact details

> Want Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday in the same run? Use the combined [ATS Jobs API](https://apify.com/steadyrow/ats-jobs). This is the SmartRecruiters-only version.

### Typical uses

- **Job boards and newsletters** with enterprise and mid-market employers
- **Alerts on new roles** at a list of companies (daily monitor)
- **Hiring-trend research**: departments and countries a company is expanding in
- **Recruiting-agency lead lists**: who is hiring in your niche
- **AI agents** that need a typed job feed

### Input

```json
{
    "companies": [
        "https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup",
        "ServiceNow",
        "smartrecruiters:Equinox"
    ],
    "keywords": ["engineer", "manager"],
    "excludeKeywords": ["intern"],
    "locations": ["Germany", "United States"],
    "departments": ["Sales"],
    "postedWithinDays": 30,
    "maxItemsPerSource": 200,
    "includeDescription": true,
    "monitorMode": false
}
```

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `companies` | **Required.** One per line: a SmartRecruiters URL, a company ID (`BoschGroup` or `smartrecruiters:BoschGroup`), a job URL (the whole company is scraped) or a company careers page that embeds SmartRecruiters. **Company IDs are case-sensitive.** |
| `keywords` | Keep jobs whose **title** contains any of these words. Sent to SmartRecruiters' search, so large companies are not paged in full. `searchInDescription` also matches descriptions (then everything is paged). |
| `excludeKeywords` | Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words. |
| `locations` | Keep jobs whose location or country contains one of these words (whole-word, case-insensitive). `remote` matches remote jobs. |
| `remote` | `any`, `remote_only` or `exclude_remote`. |
| `departments` | Keep jobs whose department contains one of these strings. |
| `postedWithinDays` | Only jobs released in the last N days. |
| `maxItemsPerSource` / `maxItems` | Limits per company / per run (0 = no limit). |
| `includeDescription`, `includeDescriptionHtml` | Description in plain text and/or HTML. Needs one request per job; with both off, the run is much faster. |
| `monitorMode`, `monitorStateName` | Only output jobs not delivered before; name of the store that remembers them. |

The company ID is the last part of `https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/<CompanyId>`.

### Output

```json
{
    "job_id": "smartrecruiters:ServiceNow:744000150671169",
    "ats": "smartrecruiters",
    "company": "ServiceNow",
    "company_board_id": "ServiceNow",
    "title": "Partner Development Manager, Business Development - Built On Solutions",
    "department": "Sales",
    "team": null,
    "location": "Dublin, Ireland",
    "locations": ["Dublin, Ireland"],
    "country": "IE",
    "remote": false,
    "workplace_type": "onsite",
    "employment_type": "FULL_TIME",
    "posted_at": "2026-09-21T11:39:57.185Z",
    "updated_at": null,
    "salary_min": null,
    "salary_max": null,
    "salary_currency": null,
    "salary_period": null,
    "salary_source": null,
    "description_text": "…",
    "apply_url": "https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/ServiceNow/744000150671169",
    "source_url": "https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/ServiceNow/744000150671169",
    "input": "smartrecruiters:ServiceNow",
    "scraped_at": "2026-10-20T16:47:45.630Z"
}
```

SmartRecruiters-specific notes:

- The API has no structured salary field, so `salary_*` is parsed from the description text and is `null` when the text states no range. Salary parsing needs the description, so keep `includeDescription` on if you need it.
- `team` is always `null`; use `department` (SmartRecruiters' department, or its function when no department is set).
- `posted_at` is the posting's release date.
- An unknown company ID is reported in the log and in the `SUMMARY` record; the other companies still run.

### Monitor mode

Turn on **Monitor mode**, save the input as a task and schedule it. The first run returns all matching jobs; later runs return only jobs not delivered before. State is kept per company in the key-value store `smartrecruiters-jobs-monitor`. Tested: second run returned 0 jobs; after forgetting 6 jobs the third run returned exactly those 6.

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Job in the dataset | **$0.001** ($1 per 1,000 jobs) |
| Actor start | $0.002 per run |

1,000 jobs ≈ $1. Filtered-out jobs and jobs already delivered in monitor mode are free. Set **Maximum cost per run** to cap spending.

### FAQ

**Why is a company ID not found?** IDs are case-sensitive (`BoschGroup`, not `boschgroup`), and some companies have no public postings. Open `https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/<id>` in a browser to check.

**Does it get every job?** It returns every posting the company published through the public Posting API. Internal-only jobs are not included.

**Is it legal?** The Actor uses SmartRecruiters' public Posting API without login or protection bypass and outputs no personal data. You are responsible for how you use the data.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

One per line. Paste a SmartRecruiters URL (https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup, https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/Equinox), a company ID (`BoschGroup` or `smartrecruiters:BoschGroup`; IDs are case-sensitive), a job URL (the whole company is scraped), or a company careers page that embeds SmartRecruiters.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title contains at least one of these words (whole-word, case-insensitive). Leave empty to keep all.

## `searchInDescription` (type: `boolean`):

By default keywords are matched against the job title only.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words (e.g. Senior, Intern).

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose location, any of their locations, or country contains one of these words (whole-word, case-insensitive; e.g. London, Germany, US). Use `remote` to match remote jobs.

## `remote` (type: `string`):

Filter by remote eligibility.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose SmartRecruiters department contains one of these strings (e.g. Engineering).

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only jobs posted in the last N days. 0 = no limit.

## `maxItemsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs from one board. 0 = all jobs.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop the whole run after this many jobs. 0 = no limit.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Adds `description_text`. Turning it off makes runs much faster (no per-job request).

## `includeDescriptionHtml` (type: `boolean`):

Adds `description_html` (cleaned original HTML).

## `monitorMode` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers every job already delivered (per board) and outputs only jobs you have not received before. The first run outputs all matching jobs. Ideal for a daily schedule — you only pay for new jobs.

## `monitorStateName` (type: `string`):

Name of the key-value store that keeps the list of delivered jobs. Use a different name per task if you run several independent monitors.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Detail requests run in parallel up to this number. Requests to one ATS host are additionally limited to about 4 per second.
