## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What this does

Gets public events from Eventbrite: by keyword and city, by category, format, date and price, from a results page you copy from the site, or from an organizer's page.

For each event you get the name, summary, start and end time (local and UTC), venue with address and coordinates, online flag, category, subcategory, format, tags, lowest and highest ticket price with currency, sale status (on sale, sold out, sales ended), and the **organizer's name, website, X/Twitter, Facebook and follower count**. With **details** on you also get the full description as text and HTML, every ticket type with its price, fee and status, the refund policy and the age restriction.

It reads the site's own public search data, not rendered pages, so it needs no proxy and no browser. 1,000 events take under a minute without details and about five minutes with details.

Typical uses:

- Lead lists of event organizers in a city or niche, with their websites and socials
- Event calendars and aggregators for a city, a topic or a venue area
- Ticket price and sell-out tracking for a category or for competitors' events
- Market research: how many events of a type run where, when and at what price

Every row has the same keys. Fields an event doesn't have are `null` or an empty list; the last ten fields (from `description` on) are filled only with details on. In tests about 7 in 10 events had an organizer website and about 1 in 3 a Facebook page.

### Limits worth knowing

- **More than 1,000 events per search.** Eventbrite shows only 1,000 events for one search. When you ask for more, the actor repeats the search over smaller date ranges, then per category, format and price, and skips duplicates. In a test, one Saturday in New York returned 1,449 different events where a single search stops at 1,000. A split search returns the soonest dates first and looks up to 400 days ahead.
- **Counts are approximate.** The site folds repeats of the same event into one result, so a search that reports 1,600 events can hold fewer different ones. Judge coverage by the rows you get.
- **Recurring events** come as one row for the next date, with `seriesId` and the number of dates in `occurrences`.
- **Locations.** A city name is matched to Eventbrite's own place list and the match is written to the log (`Location "London" -> London, Greater London, United Kingdom`). For a different place with the same name add the region or country ("London, Canada") or use the slug from the site's address bar (`canada--london`). An unknown location stops the run with a clear message instead of searching the wrong place.
- **Results page URLs** must be search pages (`/d/...`). All filters in the address are kept, including ones that have no input field here, such as neighbourhoods and languages.
- **Organizer pages** return upcoming events only.
- **Upcoming events only.** Eventbrite's search does not list events that have ended.
- **Prices.** `minPrice` and `maxPrice` are the cheapest and dearest ticket on sale. About 3 in 100 paid events publish no price in the search data; both fields are `null` for them, and `ticketClasses` (details on) usually still has the prices.
- Attendee counts, tickets sold and venue capacity are not public and are not in the output. Organizer email addresses are not published by Eventbrite; the organizer's website and social pages are.
- An event found by two keywords or two locations is delivered (and charged) once.
- If the details of one event can't be fetched, the event is still delivered without them and charged at the lower price. Eventbrite refuses the details request for a very small share of events (about 1 in 1,500 in tests).

### Pricing

You pay per event delivered: one price for an event, a higher one for an event with full details. Set a maximum cost per run in the run options and the actor stops cleanly when it reaches it.

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Event with full details | $3.00 per 1,000 |
| Event (search row) | $1.50 per 1,000 |
| Run start | $0.002 |

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

What to search for, one search per keyword: tech conference, yoga, startup networking. Leave empty to get every event in the locations below.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

City, region or country names (London, Austin, Germany), Eventbrite location slugs (ny--new-york) or the word online. Each keyword is searched in each location. Leave empty to search worldwide.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Paste any of: a results page from the site (`https://www.eventbrite.com/d/ny--new-york/business--events--this-weekend/`, all its filters are kept), an organizer page (`https://www.eventbrite.com/o/name-33011984549`, returns the organizer's upcoming events), or an event page (`https://www.eventbrite.com/e/name-tickets-1224235995819`). Any Eventbrite country site works.

## `maxEvents` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit for each keyword and location pair, each results page URL and each organizer. Eventbrite shows 1,000 events per search; when you ask for more, the actor splits the search by date, category, format and price to reach the rest.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the full description (text and HTML), every ticket type with price, fee and sale status, refund policy, age restriction, and created/changed timestamps. Two extra requests per event, billed at the higher "event with details" price.

## `category` (type: `string`):

Only events in this category.

## `format` (type: `string`):

Only events of this type.

## `dateRange` (type: `string`):

Ignored when a From or To date is set below.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

Only events starting on or after this day (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Only events starting on or before this day (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `price` (type: `string`):

Free events, paid events or both.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order of each search before the limit is applied. Relevance is the order the site shows.
